WWE Friday Night Smackdown 1/11/13...The Return Of The Rock

The following contains spoilers of tonight’s upcoming show, so please if you don’t want to find out what happens, you have been warned.

Tonight, we will see the return of The Rock, we are in Miami, Florida.  We will also see a World Heavyweight Title match, with Alberto Del Rio Vs Big Show.

Lilian Garcia welcomes the General Manager of Smackdown, Booker T.

We are going to kick this year off with a bang, he saw what Raw delivered, anything Raw can do, Smackdown can do better.

Raw gave you John Cena Vs Dolph Ziggler, well tonight, he will give us Antonio Cesaro Vs Randy Orton.

After 10 years, the Most Electrifying Man in all Entertainment is back in this ring, none other than The Rock.

And we will get a World Title match involving Big Show Vs Alberto Del Rio, in a Last Man Standing match.

Big Show heads to the ring, he is irate.  Is this about the fact they are in Miami, and these people need a Latino hero?  There is no such thing as a Latino hero, or an Irish hero, or a Viper hero, because Big Show dominates them all.

Big Show gets into Booker T’s face, and here comes Alberto Del Rio, taking out Big Show with a dropkick.  It’s set, Last Man Standing match, the return of The Rock.

Josh Matthews and JBL welcome us to the show, and we see The Rock video, highlighting his career.

Tonight, The Rock comes home to Smackdown.

The WWE champion has another pipebomb to deliver to The Rock, and Antonio Cesaro will face Randy Orton.

Orton Vs Cesaro, now.

Orton wins the match by DQ, when The Shield lays out Orton, sending a message.

Moments ago, we see what we just saw, with Orton being attacked by The Shield.  Matt Striker is with 3MB.

They officially put themselves in the Royal Rumble match, and now it’s time to headline Wrestlemania.  But first, they have a certain Irish tenor to attend to.  They will beat Sheamus, like an Irish drummer, baby!!

Royal Rumble is official, we will see The Rock face CM Punk for the WWE Title, and Punk, along with Paul Heyman had these comments, earlier today.

Punk states that they won’t ruin Rock’s own homecoming, he is a big fan of The Rock, especially in his college football days.  They are both at Sun Life Stadium, the home of where The Rock had his last match, for Wrestlemania 28.  Punk puts on a Dwayne Johnson Miami Hurricanes uniform, number 94.

But wait a second, they aren’t where The Rock played in college, they laid the Smackdown out of the Orange Bowl.  They took his glory days away, they are gone.  This is not his WWE anymore, this is CM Punk’s WWE.  So kiss the babies all you want, he will take you down at Royal Rumble.  To return to your show for the first time, The People’s ring, the People’s mic, and you will say Finally, The Rock has come back to Miami, but the truth is Rock, you can never go home.

Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee are going to face The Great Khali and Natalya, now.

Before the match, Matt Striker is with Alberto Del Rio.  Big Show doesn’t know the meaning of familia, and what it’s like being a Latino, but at the end of the night, Del Rio will be the Last Man Standing, and the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Intergender tag match is up, now.

AJ and Dolph wins when AJ bit Natalya’s leg, and face, and gave her a Shining Wizard.

Big E. took out Great Khali, and Hornswoggle.

Punk brings up how Rock said Monday night that time was up, which was a cute reference to his championship reign coming to an end, but it won’t happen.

Heyman said I am sure Rock thinks he is better than Punk, but he isn’t.

Punk is the best in the world, so he understands his vision, but the people’s vision is Rock would be a conquering hero, and he would ride into town, win the WWE Title, and head to Wrestlemania, but CM punk doesn’t share those visions, because in the era of CM Punk, it doesn’t matter what your vision is.

The Rock comes back home, next.

Here he comes, the Most Electrifying Man in all of Sports Entertainment….The Rock heads to the ring.

Finally The Rock has come back….home.  First of all, he wants to introduce Miami’s own Flo Rida, who is in the crowd.

He was disappointed that CM Punk would not be here tonight, because he wanted to Rock Bottom his ass again.  But Miami, Florida, this is where it all started, in the U.  The practice field, Warren Sapp, Ray Lewis, players who have become his brothers for life, all started to play like men, and win championships.  But this is where it all started, and come Royal Rumble, he will kick the Cookie Puss’ ass all over the ring.

Since Punk didn’t want to have some fun, The Rock is going to have some fun of his own.  Miami, you want to have some fun?

Oh glorious, here come Team Rhodes Scholars.

Allow him to introduce himself, he is Damien Sandow, and he is the Intellectual Savior, of the Unwashed Masses.

This is his tag team partner, and best friend, the essence of Moustacheousness, Cody Rhodes.

They are here to correct him, Rock is not going to be champion, they are.  They beat Team Hell No, and they will do it again, but they don’t feel like he deserves to be a champion, so why doesn’t he get out of this ring, before he doesn’t have a chance.

The Rock asks they went down this ramp, in his ring, on his show, with this robe, and a dead caterpillar on his lip.

The Rock has one question for Cody, sweet tap dancing Jesus, what is that on Cody’s face?

Cody is an adult, if he wants to grow a moustache, he’ll grow a moustache.

Damien asks about a wager, he has been looking for an apprentice lately, and not surprisingly, he hasn’t found out yet, and since Rock is the People’s Champ, let’s see if he can do this correctly, if he does, he stays, if he doesn’t, he leaves.

Just Bring It!!  says The Rock.

Cody doesn’t think he can answer the questions, he did go to Miami.

That is not what the B stands for, but The Rock is correct.

Damn right The Rock is correct, he knows the 19th century.  Speaking of the 19th century, with Damien Sandow’s beard, and his buggy eyes, he looks like what Abe Lincoln would look like if he got bit by a Gremlin.

Next question, what film won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1993?

Not the Tooth Fairy.

Easy, Schindler’s List.  Cody looks like he looks at Craig’s List.

Rock is flirting with Lilian Garcia.

Last question, how about The Rock asks one final question, and if he gets it right, he will get an amazing gift from The Rock, and Miami.  What happens when you get the geological particles all at the bottom of the surface?

Damien says you get rock bottom.

Boom!!

Rock nails Damien with a Rock Bottom.

Cody is ready, he takes off his robe, charges after Rock, but we get Spinebuster, and People’s Elbow, thanks for coming Cody.

If Ya Smell What The Rock Is Cooking.

Sheamus is facing 3MB, and really this wasn’t a match.  Heath Slater is stuck facing Sheamus, and Sheamus nails a Brogue Kick, getting the pinfall.

Next, Team Hell No is in action.

Prime Time Players are facing team Hell No.

Team Hell No wins with a Chokeslam by Kane, pinning Darren Young, in easy fashion.

World Heavyweight Title, Last Man Standing Match, Big Show Vs Alberto Del Rio is next.

This Monday night, Raw’s 30th Anniversary, Kaitlyn will try to win the Divas Title against Eve Torres.

Earlier tonight, we see Big Show roughing up Booker T, and Del Rio comes out to confront Big Show.

Our main event, World Heavyweight Title match, Alberto Del Rio Vs Big Show, now.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Big Show, to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.  Big Show did not answer the 10 count, after Del Rio flipped over the Smackdown table across Show, and Del Rio celebrates, and runs into the crowd, ending the show.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

WWE posted this spoiler on Tuesday night, so even if you were trying to avoid the spoiler, you more than likely did not.  Whether you like it or not, it’s WWE’s way of getting the news out there first.  My suggestion is to change Smackdown to live every Tuesday night, but that won’t happen, so here we go.

Tonight’s show was fun to watch, and it felt like a big moment seeing Alberto Del Rio win the title.  He has been a babyface for many years, so he can  easily pull it off. 

The Rock’s return to Smackdown was fun, and while it would have been nice to hear Punk’s take, after Monday night, it was still fun to see The Rock work with Team Rhodes Scholars.

Antonio Cesaro is getting ready for a big main event push, and he looked good facing Randy Orton.

Overall, a much better show this week than it was last week, then again, it wasn’t that difficult.
