WWE Monday Night Raw 8/15/11…How Does Punk Respond?

We are in San Diego, California tonight, and there is a WWE Title match announced, Rey Mysterio, the hometown boy from 619 will face off against the new WWE Champion, Alberto Del Rio.

Also, how will CM Punk respond to Kevin Nash coming out and destroying Punk last night, costing him the WWE Title?

Was HHH involved?

Does Cena have any more crappy, cheesy jokes to tell us?

Michael Cole, Jerry “The King” Lawler, and Jim Ross welcome us to the show.

Here comes The Game, the Chief Operating Officer of WWE, he is headed to the ring.

He said alot of people are upset about what went down last night.  He wants to apologize to the fans, he wants to apologize to John Cena.  He made a mistake, and later tonight, he will look at Cena in the eye and apologize.  If he hadn’t screwed up, he wasn’t sure who would have won, but it happened, and he had no problem raising his hand to the new Undisputed Champion, CM Punk.

As for what happened after the match, he assures us he had nothing to do with Kevin Nash.  Yes, he is friends with him, he had called to HHH and asked for tickets in Los Angeles for the event, and he hopped off the guard rail, and did what he had to do to Punk.  He offered Kevin to come out tonight and explain his actions, Kevin said he would if only he had the opportunity to speak the truth.

As for Alberto Del Rio, it’s how the Money in the Bank works, and we have one Undisputed WWE Champion, and that man is Alberto Del Rio.

Here comes the new champion.

His name is Alberto Del Rio, but you already knew that.

He has been saying this for weeks, and weeks, it was his destiny to become the WWE Champion.  But he is going to be honest with us, because he loves us.  It was never his intension to become WWE Champion at Summerslam, but after what Kevin Nash did, he couldn’t resist.  Some people were just born to be great, and we know he is the greatest of the great….our Undisputed WWE Champion. 

As our champion, he wants to represent us with respect, honesty, and passion.  He just wants to be our champion, tonight, he is going to be in the lobby signing autographs for us.  He’ll even take pictures with our kids, his people.  This is the kind of champion Alberto wants to be.

For his first title defense tonight, he will face Rey Mysterio. 

When WWE first told him he was going to face Rey, he was happy because everyone loves Rey Mysterio.  He is a Mexican ICON, and a great champion.  In fact, he loves Rey Mysterio, he loves beating Rey Mysterio.  He started his WWE career beating Rey Mysterio.

Every morning, he wakes up and asks himself what is he going to do today?

He is going to beat Rey Mysterio.

So it’s time for the peeps in San Diego to change their area code, it’s time for a new hero….Alberto Del Rio.

Tonight, the main event is Rey Mysterio Vs Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Title.

HHH is heading into John Cena’s locker room to apologize man to man.

Here comes The Truth, and he finally has music….the same What’s Up Theme song he had.

Truth has a Falls Count Anywhere Match with John Morrison, now.

John Morrison won the match with a Shining Wizard on a chair.  They brawled all over ringside, and used some chairs to set each other up.  John needed this win to elevate the feud, and that took place.  Some “Little Jimmy” chants too, and soon, Truth could turn back into a face.

CM Punk arrives the building, and business has just picked up.

Still to come tonight, WWE Title is on the line, Rey Mysterio trying to become WWE Champion again will face Alberto Del Rio.

Awesome….The Miz is coming out.

The Miz has been asked by someone to say hello to someone from the audience, Jared Fogle, from Subway is here.  He is a Mizfit, but Miz isn’t a fan of his.  In fact, he believes he can be a better spokesman for Subway than Jared could ever be.

Miz apporaches Jared, and yanks a Subway sandwich from him.

The Miz is doing a better job than Jared, and Jared looks constipated.  Subway, hire The Miz to be the spokesman, now it’s trending, and it’s because of The Miz.  He is a star, he will be the champion again, because he is The Miz…..and he’s awesome.

Here is a limo, and it’s Kevin Nash.

Trace Atkins is in the crowd tonight.  His album “Proud to be Here” is doing well, and his new single “Just Fishing” is on the charts.

Divas action now, a tag team between Kelly Kelly and Eve taking on The Bella Twins are up now.

Eve and Kelly win the match with Eve pulling off a Moonsault, while Kelly spears the other twin.

Here comes The Allied Powers….AKA Divas of Doom, they sincerely cheer Kelly and Eve for their win.

Kevin Nash speaks next.

Here comes the big man, no music at all, not even a Diesel truck.

He’d like to thank his good friend HHH for allowing him to come out and explain his actions.  They have been close friends for almost 20 years, and he is a Godfather to his son. 

We have “What” chants from this.  Oh, please.

He was watching the show last night, but he received a text last night, and it said “Hey big man, can you do me a favor, stick the winner of the match, no matter who”, so he did business, pure and simple. 

But here is the thing, he gets into the building, and HHH is denying everything, he thinks he needs to get on the same page.  It’s just business.

Here comes CM Punk.

Okay, you expect Punk to believe that load of crap?  He and HHH are best friends, he hears that HHH signed him because it’s good for business.  But if HHH told Nash to jump off a building, would Nash?  Because THAT is good for business.

He always heard that HHH doesn’t know what’s good for business, he heard that Kevin Nash doesn’t know what’s good for business, now he knows for sure they don’t.

Nash said they have never spoken to each other, but Punk needs to shut his mouth, and Punk said obviously you don’t watch the show, because Punk never shuts his mouth.

Nash said that Punk’s world just changed.

Punk said that it could be that HHH is telling the truth, he really didn’t know that was going to happen.

Nash offers Punk to see his text message on his cellphone, and Punk said he will show what his sister texted him last night…”Kevin Nash WTF…I thought he was dead…LOL”

The truth is that Nash’s career has actually died, not his life.  Many people have pissed him off last night, one of them is not Alberto Del Rio, Del Rio did what Punk had done 2 other times, what 8 other men have done when they won Money in the Bank ladder matches.

Nash said all HHH has done is shook up the business a bit, Punk said no, he is the one who shook up the world.  Nash said why because he has been champion 3 times for 20 days in a 5 year span? 

Punk said this coming from a man who called Eddie Guerrero a “Vanilla Midget”, this is 2012, not 1994.

Nash said what he needs to do is thank Nash, because in 1996, he and Scott Hall changed the business so wrestlers can have guaranteed contracts, even guys like CM Punk.

Nash told Punk to hit the shower, take some weights, get a clue.

Punk said last night, Nash did something he shouldn’t have done, he said he would rather show up as CM Punk and leave as CM Punk rather than enter the business as Oz, Vinny Vegas, Diesel. 

Enough of the talking, let’s fight.

Punk starts to walk to the ring, and security blocks him.

It doesn’t surprise Punk that the COO of WWE is ordering security to watch “his buddy” Kevin nash.  If security is here, than HHH is by himself, and he will get to the bottom of this.

Throughout the night, they are showing videos of Rey Mysterio winning the titles.

When we come back, Nash is in HHH’s office, and John Laurnitus is there, telling him that HHH is talking with Punk.  It’s horrible how he spoke to him last night, but it’s bad how he spoke to Nash tonight.  He wants to discuss something with Kevin, so he follows him.

Alex Riley has a match tonight, with Dolph Ziggler commentating.

Riley is facing Jack Swagger.

Jack Swagger beat Alex Riley with a Gut Wrench Power Bomb, Jack had to do it three times, Vickie interfered, with J.R.’s hat, and Dolph steps on Jim’s hat, for no reason.  Vickie and Dolph bicker among each other, and really this didn’t help Jack’s WWE career.

More video of Rey, this time from last month where he beat The Miz to become a 3 time champion.

Tonight, WWE Title is on the line, Rey Mysterio Vs Alberto Del Rio.

Jack Swagger wants to thank Vickie for helping him, she has managed World Champions.  Edge would be nothing without her, and so would Dolph Ziggler.  She is a great manager, look at the great managers of the past, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, “Classy” Freddy Blassie had managed multiple wrestlers, maybe she should expand her wrestlers?

WWE Summerslam Axxess is being shown now.

Punk is looking for HHH, but he runs into Stephanie McMahon.  She wants to apologize for how he lost the WWE Title, but then again he didn’t technically win since John Cena’s foot was on the ropes.  In the end, people always get what they deserve.

Our next match is a tag team match, Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne taking on the WWE Tag Team champions, Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga.

Evan and Kofi win with Evan giving us Air Bourne.  Amazing move here, and it more than likely puts these guys in line for a WWE Tag Team Title match down the road, perhaps at Night of Champions?

Rey is getting ready for his title match, the main event is next.

WWE Title match, Rey Mysterio taking on Alberto Del Rio is now.

Alberto Del Rio retains the title by rolling Rey after Rey tried to Drop the Dime, and missed.  Excellent match here, and Del Rio took out Rey again with the Cross Arm Breaker.

This brings out John Cena, and Del Rio runs out of the ring. 

Cena tells us he has had a bad weekend, and he is pissed off, but he’s not pissed off at HHH.  Why?  HHH cost you the title, you SHOULD be mad at him.  Np, instead, he is mad at guys like Alberto Del Rio, who cash in the briefcase and get lucky to call themselves champion.  Del Rio isn’t a real champion, because he didn’t earn it, like himself and Punk did last night.  Because the truth is Del Rio is now the hunted.  The friends will turn on him to become champion, and if he gets in the ring with Cena, he will beat him.

Del Rio dismisses this, and we end the show with John checking on Rey.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

This was a loaded show tonight, setting the motions for what lies ahead.  The problem is we are back to square one even as far back as June.  Cena is still THE MAN, and he still is “The Golden Child”, despite the fans wanting change.  I’ll say it again, WWE dropped the ball big time here with Cena, last night was that opportunity to turn heel, and truly change the business.  Perhaps that is the long term plan, but I just don’t see it.

So, we will get Cena Vs Alberto Del Rio, a man who Cena more or less called an “Unworthy” champion, just like he had done in the past with guys like The Miz, Cody Rhodes, and Ted Dibiase.  The truth is, in theory, Del Rio is worthy to call himself champion because he just beat Rey Mysterio clean.  Yeah, Del Rio attacked Rey after the match, but he rolled him up to retain the title nonetheless.  But whatever, what I say doesn’t matter anyway, after all, if they listened to anything I’d say, Cena would have been a heel a long time ago.  The dude even has the same entrance theme for 7 years, it’s so 2005.

I have no problem with CM Punk Vs Kevin Nash, because Nash should elevate Punk’s status, and their promo tonight was very entertaining.

But whose side is HHH on?  I mean, if he is the COO, than surely he saw on the screen what his wife and his “stooge” John Laurenitus said, right?

I enjoyed R-Truth Vs John Morrison, and I was glad John picked up the win, he needed it.

Swagger joining Vickie’s stable?  What on earth will she call them?  Vickie’s Cougars?

They have nothing planned for The Miz, but he makes it work.  You can tell Chris Jericho is his mentor.
