WWE Friday Night Smackdown 10/14/11…Battle Royal Tested

We start the show with footage from last week, the return of The Big Show, wanting a World Heavyweight Title shot, and it was eventually received.

We are in D-Town, Dallas, Texas.  Teddy Long comes out to join us.  He is with the new Interim General Manager of Raw, John Laurinaitis.

Move over Gunsmoke, WWE Smackdown is now in 2nd place of all time running program on TV.  This is a gigantic celebration, so big we are having the largest Battle Royal tonight, with the winner getting a title shot of his choosing later tonight.

So, we kick the show off with a 41 man Battle Royal.

Randy Orton wins the 41 man Battle Royal when he last eliminated The Miz, with a RKO and they both were on the floor, but Miz landed first.  We had a bit of everything, including Matt Striker and William Regal competing.  CM Punk went after R-Truth, and Christian went after Sheamus to continue their feuds, respectively.

Vengeance will be Orton’s, and tonight, he chooses to go after the World Heavyweight Title against Mark Henry.

Kelly Kelly and Eve are on their way to the ring.  Kelly Vs Beth Phoenix, for the Diva’s Title is up next.

The WWE Champion, Alberto Del Rio is on his way out the door.  Orton chose Henry, so he and Ricardo has the night off.  But Teddy Long informs him he is facing Sheamus later tonight.

WWE Diva’s Title match is up now.

Wham Bam, Glam Slam.  A short match here, Beth retains her title.

Still to come tonight, Orton Vs Henry for the World Heavyweight Title Match.

Here comes Blue Sin Cara, coming down for a match.  We go backstage, and see Sin Cara del Negro attack Sin Cara Azul.  He has his mask.

The Black Sin Cara has a match set up with Justin Gabriel, the match is on now.

Sin Cara wins the match with a Swanton,  meanwhile in Teddy’s office, he was with the Tag Team champions.  Evan is hurt too much to compete, so Zack Ryder comes in and says they can count on him.  So later tonight, Kofi Kingston and Zack Ryder face Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler.

Sheamus Vs Alberto Del Rio is on now.

Del Rio gives Sheamus a kick when Christian distracted Sheamus and we see ADR retain his title, and win the match.

After the match, Christian lays out Sheamus with a spear, but Sheamus keeps getting back uo, so Christian gave him another spear, for good measure.

The rivalry continues tonight…Orton Vs Henry, for the title tonight.

John Cena’s new movie trailer, “The Reunion” is playing right now.”

Kofi Kingston and Zack Ryder taking on Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger right now.

Zack and Kofi win the match with Trouble in Paradise, pinning Jack Swagger.  A solid match.

Raw Rebound from last week, featuring the return of Mr. McMahon, and announcing John Laurinaitis is in charge temporary.

Coming up, Randy Orton Vs Mark Henry, for the World Heavywight Title match.

We are in Dallas, Texas.  Smackdown has become the 2nd most episodic episodes on broadcast TV, behind WWE Raw.

Sheamus is with Matt Striker.  Sheamus has some unfinished business with Christian, fella.

Footage from last week where we see the return of The Big Show.

Main event time….Mark Henry Vs The Viper, Randy Orton, that match is up now.

Henry was DQ’d when Cody Rhodes came out and beat down on Orton.  Cody was getting a paper bag when The Big Show ran out for the save.  RKO on Orton, Chokeslam for Big Show, and this ends the show.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

A loaded show tonight and that is never a bad thing, considering the disaster Raw was on Monday night.  We have 2 title matches tonight, and possibly a tag team match set up for next week.  All in all, the show was a million times better than Raw, and some solid wrestling in the action.  I have no problem seeing Sheamus and Christian feud some more, we’ll more than likely see Orton Vs Rhodes at Vengeance.  So what were your thoughts on the show?  Email me at DJKevinGillman75@aol.com or drop me a line on the site.
