WWE Monday Night Raw 10/17/11…Viva La Mexico

We are live…on tape in Mexico City, Mexico.  Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show.  John Laurinaitis comes out to the ring.

We see footage from last week when HHH was relieved from his duties as COO of WWE.

John said tonight is the return of Rey Mysterio, but he then told us he was just kidding.  The fans do not like that, and he said Mexican people have no sense of humor.  The board of directors have enough confidence in him to take over, and he is going to give us honor, integrity, and moral decisions.  He will make mistakes, however, and one of them was firing Jim Ross.  He has received countless tweets, nasty comments from fans, and he is doing this for us.  Which is why he’d like us to welcome back J.R.

Here he comes, and Cole is upset.

Jim grabs his headset, and Laurinaitis wants Jim to come back to the ring so John can give him an apology.

J.R. reluctantly comes in the ring, and receives a hug from John.

John wants Jim to see footage that took place last week when Jim left, and we had Michael Cole in the ring with Alberto Del Rio, making fun of the fact that Jim Ross was fired, again.

John wants these issues to be done, which is why he is making the main event tonight of Alberto Del Rio and Michael Cole facing Jim Ross and John Cena.

There you go, Jim Ross and Michael Cole are in the main event.

Cole and Ross give us a stare down, while Randy Orton comes out to the ring, getting set for a 6 man tag team match.  Orton, John Morrison, and Sheamus facing Christian, Mark Henry, and Cody Rhodes.  The match is up next.

Mark Henry wins for his team, pinning John Morrison with the World’s Strongest Slam.  Randy Orton took Cody Rhodes out of the picture, and later Sheamus took Christian out of the picture.  So, Mark can defeat Morrison, but he can’t pin Randy Orton.

Still to come tonight, CM Punk will face The Miz, one on one, and our main event is going to be Michael Cole and Alberto Del Rio facing Jim Ross and John Cena.

Brodus Clay video is being played.

JL is on the phone with someone, why are these GMs on the phone, and who are they talking to?

The Bella Twins want to say they are glad he is the GM.  Ricardo Rodriguez interrupts him, and we have Alberto Del Rio.

He is a bit upset that Michael Cole is his tag team partner.  John informs ADR that the winner of the tag match tonight will choose the stipulation of the Title match this Sunday.

Eve is coming out to the ring, she is with Kelly Kelly, and her opponent is Natalya.

At Vengeance this Sunday, Eve will try to regain the Diva’s Title, facing off against Beth Phoenix.

While Cole makes some more jokes at Jim Ross, Eve wins the match with a Moonsault.

Coming up next, CM Punk will face The Miz.

CM Punk comes out to the ring, ready for his match with The Miz.

It’s official, CM Punk and HHH will face The Awesome Truth this Sunday.

Truth and Miz give us their rap, while Punk does not look amused.

Miz asked Punk if he’s sweating because he remembers the last time they faced each other, he was jumped.  What bothers Punk more?  The fact he can’t have a WWE Title shot in a long time (What?  When did that happen?), or the fact that they took care of HHH and made him lose his power once and for all.

Truth tells Punk they want Vengeance, and Vengeance is going to get got.  And that’s awesome.

HHH’s music is playing, and here comes.

Match is up next.

Punk wins the match with a rollup.  During the middle of the match, John L came out and informed HHH that he has problems with immigration, and had to leave with authorities.  David Otunga was behind this, I am telling you.  After the match, Miz and Truth had their way with Punk.  Other referees came out to stop this, and they walked away.  Truth then snuck back in, and gave him Paydirt, while Miz gave Punk Skull Crushing Finale.

Michael Cole welcomes us to the Spanish Announce Team.  WWE.com had a poll on what is the name of the 1st ever show on the new WWE Network, the winner is Wrestlemania Rewind.

Good gravy, they are going to have a reality show with legends living in one roof.  I hope The Iron Shiek is involved, and someone brings up Hulk Hogan.

The fans in Mexico still are booing Vickie Guerrero.  Even though she is from El Paso, Texas, she is a goddess in Mexico.  She is the “Angelina Jolie” in Mexico, and just like Angelina, she is more than just a pretty face.  John Laurenaitis has agreed to put Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger to face Air Boom this Sunday at Vengeance.

Dolph said that he can understand why so many Mexicans want to leave Mexico, he does too.  But they will never make it, but they get the next best thing….To see The All American American American Jack Swagger, and Dolph Ziggler in action.

Now, Jack Swagger is going to sing the national anthem.

He does it poorly.

Jack is going to face Zack Ryder…WOO WOO WOO….You Know It.

Zack wins the match with a Rough Ryder.

Ziggler and Swagger try to corner Zack after the match, but Mason Ryan comes in to help him and even the odds.

Ziggler is facing Mason Ryan, but Dolph tries and bails.  It’s not going to happen, the match is up next.

Dolph Ziggler wins the match by DQ when Mason went nuts after Vickie Guerrero slapped Mason in the face.  He took out Swagger, and gave Dolph his House of Pain finishing move.

We go backstage, with Jim Ross and John Cena.  Cena assures Jim everything will be okay tonight, just let him do all the work.  Ross tells John he does wants a piece of Cole.  Cena said that could be arranged.

Cole hears this, and is heading backstage.

Josh Matthews welcomes us to the show.  WWE Smackdown has now moved into 2nd place on the all time episodic TV shows.

Vengeance rundown.

Main event is up now.  John Cena and Jim Ross taking on Alberto Del Rio and Michael Cole.

Jim Ross and John Cena defeat Alberto Del Rio and Michael Cole, making Cole tap out to the STF.

Cena chose the stipulation, and of course it’s Last Man Standing.  How did he do it?  By decking ADR, and counting to 10.  The show ends here.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

Wow, the ending was surely flat and it left a very bad taste in my mouth.  See, for everyone that bitches about Bound for Glory last night, I will show you this very crappy ending.  Bobby Roode deserved to win the match last night, but at least Kurt put Bobby on his same level, where John Cena takes Alberto Del Rio, and shows you he clearly is above this.  ADR, the WWE Champion just made Barry Harowitz look like Lou Thesz.  ADR surely cannot beat John Cena, can he?  He is a bum, and even if he does, he can’t beat him cleanly.  Well, ADR is a 2-time WWE Champion now, and John Cena still can’t respect the man, in the ring.

Vengeance is this Sunday, and there hardly has been any heat, except Miz and Truth vs HHH and Punk, but I think it’s obvious HHH is turning heel.  I mean after all, why else would “Immigration” want him gone from the arena?  Let me put it this way, if HHH doesn’t turn, I will be shocked, so perhaps that is what they will have to do.

Everything else was there, the only thing that made this show seem unique is the fact they were in Mexico, filming the episode.  The atmosphere was great, other than that, it was a very bad episode for the go home show, and hey, did you guys know Vengeance is this Sunday?
