Impact Wrestling 11/10/11….Fortune Is Torn

Last week, we see Bobby Roode become the new TNA Heavyweight Champion when Bobby Roode screwed his own tag team partner, James Storm by banging a beer bottle over his head.  What happens tonight?  Tune in, and let’s find out.

We are in Macon, Georgia and we start the program with the new Heavyweight Champion, Bobby Roode.

The crowd is booing Bobby, and he can’t figure it out.

Why do the fans hate Bobby?  because he killed Beer Money?  Why do you hate him?  because the same people would have done what Bobby had done?  This is the new generation of selfishness, and he is the leader of the new generation.  Doing things right gets you nowhere.  He ate James Storm for lunch, and he didn’t see it coming.  But that’s not his fault, that’s on James.

We see a split screen of Storm looking on, but security is blocking him.

Bobby realized that opportunities he had at Bound for Glory and last week only come around once in a lifetime, and he took that chance, and he is the new Heavyweight Champion.

Storm comes out to the ring, beating down officials, and gunning for Bobby.

Here comes Sting.

Sting prefers going the high road, and he says there is a World Title rematch with Storm Vs Roode.  And as his former partner would say….Sorry ‘Bout Your Damn Luck.

World Title match is set for tonight.

Mike Tenay and Taz welcome us to the show, and tonight we will see AJ Styles take on Christopher Daniels, Knockout Tag Team Titles are set too with Gail Kim and Madison Rayne facing Velvet Sky and Mickie James.  We also have a tag team match with Eric Young and Ronnie facing Robbie E. and Rob Terry.

EY and Ronnie are backstage.

TNA president Dixie Carter is backstage, with Bellator Fighting Championship Founder, Bjorn Rebney.  He’ll commentate later tonight.

Crimson Vs Matt Morgan video is playing now.  They will face off at Turning Point this Sunday.

The Pope comes out to the ring, he faces Crimson now.

Crimson wins with the Red Sky.  The move came out of nowhere, but they made it seem like Pope made one little mistake that cost him the match.

Garrett Bischoff will face Gunner tonight.  Gunner said this will be a walk in the park, and he disrespected his father, something Gunner never would do.

The match is taking place now.  Gunner facing Garrett Bischoff.

Very short match here that had Garrett pull off 3 Hip Tosses, a Back Body Drop, and Ric Flair shoved the referee for the DQ win with Garrett.  So, Sting now has the ability to re-write Eric Bischoff’s contract.

Robbie E. and Robbie T. are trying to go in Ronnie and Eric Young’s locker room, but security won’t allow them in.  Ronnie gets to shove Robbie E. and those are fighting words, my dude.

The four men square off in a tag team match, and for the World Title…Storm Vs Roode III.

We come back and see Storm all laid out, covered in blood with officials checking on him.  What did Bobby do to him?

Our next match is Zema Ion facing Jesse Sorensen right now.

The young kid from Texas picks up the win with a Rolling TKO over Zema.

Kid Kash comes out, “impressed” with the win.  He has a contract in hand.  20 years in the business, Kash has done it all.  So he is going to give Jesse an opportunity of a lifetime.  He challenges Jesse to a X-Division Title match with a 3-Way Dance at Turning Point.  Austin Aries Vs Kid Kash Vs Jesse Sorensen.

The match is set at Turning Point.

By the way, Jesse’s Mom is proud of him, Kash told him to tell her “Thank You”.  Those are fighting words and Jesse attacks Kash, but A-Double comes in and nails Jesse from behind.  Kash sets him up for a Piledriver.

Gail Kim and Karen Jarrett are discussing this being Gail’s night and setting things up for Velvet Sky on Sunday night, but the two are blowing off Madison Rayne.

Knockout Tag Title match is set now.  Gail Kim and Madison Rayne Vs Velvet Sky and Mickie James.

Gail and Madison pin Velvet and Mickie James with Eat Defeat.  Gail Kim attempts to win the Knockout Title this Sunday, at Turning Point.

Coming up next, Robbie E. and Robbie T. face Eric Young and Ronnie from The Jersey Shore.

Sting checks on James Storm.  James says he is fine, but he isn’t.  Sting wants to make sure James is okay, he can’t even say what city he is in.

Eric Young and Ronnie from The Jersey Shore will face off against Robbie E. and Robbie T.

Ronnie and EY win the match with a Top Elbow Drop by EY, and Ronnie pinned Robbie E.  EY did most of the work, but Ronnie performed a Body Slam, and a clothesline.  The fans seemed to like it, so there you go.

Tonight, Jeff Jarrett, Bully Ray, and Scott Steiner will face Jeff Hardy, Mr. Anderson, and a Mystery Partner.

Coming up next, AJ Styles Vs Christopher Daniels.

Jarrett, Steiner, and Bully are ready too for tonight’s match.

There is a fight backstage with Mexican America and Ink Inc.  They hook it up this Sunday for the Tag team Titles.

Bjorn Rabney joins Tenay and Taz in commentary, with Christopher Daniels Vs AJ Styles now.

AJ wins the match with a Styles Clash.  A very good match with the two men, and it ends with Daniels trying to use that screwdriver again, but RVD stops him.  RVD and Daniels hook it up this Sunday.

Bellator will have two shows coming up on back to back Saturdays, like UFC.  The trouble is, people will choose UFC over Bellator.  Perhaps Bellator can start their shows on Spike TV when UFC leaves?

TNA Turning Point PPV rundown here with Tenay and Taz.

Big 6 man Tag match is going now.  Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner, and Bully Ray taking on Jeff Hardy, Mr. Anderson, and ???

Abyss, Mr. Anderson, and Jeff Hardy win the wild 6 man tag match with a Black Hole Slam by Abyss, over Scott Steiner.  I smell an 8 man Elimination match, possibly at Genesis with these men.

Was Bobby Roode responsible for James Storm’s attack earlier?  Our main event is still to come, and it’s next.

Bobby Roode defeats a bloody James Storm with a rollup.  Storm slowly comes into the ring, and adrenaline took over James, he gets the upper hand on Bobby, but then passes out, due to the blood.  The doctor comes to ringside, and informs the referee he never should have been in the ring.  Brian Hebner hasn’t rung the bell however, and Bobby lifts him up, then rolls him over for the pin, and celebrates the win.

Sting comes out, AJ Styles and Kazarian come out.  AJ grabs the mic and calls Bobby a bastard for doing what he did to James.  He challenges Roode to a Title match at Turning Point, this Sunday.  Sting agrees to it, and Roode is upset when we end the show.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

Before I comment on tonight’s show, I forgot to comment on last week’s show, so let me say that the World Title match with Roode Vs Storm was awesome.  Ratings were pretty solid for the show, and I sincerely hope TNA has turned the corner, because tonight’s show was even better with the Wrestling heavy episode.  Impact has been better the last two months, and the writing team deserves credit, along with the men and women who are performing in the ring.

I love the buildup of Storm Vs Roode, and even though I hate the title changing hands 3 times in a month, tonight’s setup was perfect.  This delays the big title match between the two men, and I hope that the next match takes place on PPV.  They have earned that right, so for now, we get Styles Vs Roode.  I do not like however that the main event of the PPV is set up on the Go-home show.  It should have been established last week, so they can set it up tonight, but if that is my only complaint, I’ll take that.

6 Man tag match was fun, and I am glad to see Abyss being booked as a monster again.  Bully Ray vs Abyss can be fun to watch.

Ronnie from Jersey Shore and Eric Young Vs The Robbies was harmless enough, and it worked fine here.

Daniels Vs Styles delivered, and I am looking forward to seeing AJ Vs Roode, and Daniels Vs RVD this Sunday.

Knockout title was fine, and it seems like they might turn Madison Rayne into a face slowly.  Nothing wrong with that.

Again, a very well done show tonight that sets up some interesting matches this Sunday.  Roode is clearly the heel, facing AJ, and although I am not truly behind the thought, these segments have been fantastic.  What are your thoughts for the show?  Email me at and check out the site.
