WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/23/12….The Last Buildup For Wrestlemania on Smackdown

We are in Newark, New Jersey tonight, 9 days away from Wrestlemania.   We kick the show off with World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan, and AJ.

It’s boring to talk about himself, so he will have his girlfriend speak for him.  How does it feel being with a World Heavyweight Champion?

She has a match tonight, and it’s all Daniel’s doing, but when they are together, they cuddle, they spoon, he has a nice touch.  Danny, Daniel cuts her off and tells her to call him Daniel in private.  Daniel is brave and courageous.  His lips are very smooth, and he is a great lover, and at Wrestlemania, he will defeat that big Brute and retain his title, to continue being the greatest World heavyweight Champion, of all time.

Let’s hear it for AJ….more importantly, let’s hear it for me…..YES!!!  YES!!!  YES!!!

Here comes Sheamus.

Sheamus just got sick before he came out, he thinks of Danny….I mean Daniel as a coward.  If he doesn’t like to be called Danny, he won’t like being called a former World heavyweight Champion.  At Wrestlemania, he will kick his teeth down his throat.

Mark Henry is headed to the ring, he will face R-Truth, next.

Mark Henry defeated Truth with World’s Strongest Slam, after Truth tried to go off the top rope, but Mark caught him and took him out.

Big momentum for Team Johnny.

Still to come, Big Show Vs Kane.

Josh Matthews, Michael Cole, and Booker T welcome us to the show, and we find out who is the latest inductee to the WWE Hall of Fame.  It’s Yokozuna.

Yoko is joining The Four Horsemen, Ron Simmons, Mil Maskaras, Mike Tyson, and Edge.

Zack Ryder is trying to get on Wrestlemania card, from Monday night, rallying the crowd in Philadelphia, before Raw.  He was rallying the crowd.  Team Long sees this, and Zack wants in, but Teddy doesn’t want any distractions with the Eve situation, but he brings in Hornswoggle to be a mascot.  Every team needs a mascot, and he is waving a flag with Teddy Long’s picture on it.  He said everyone needs a mascot, but it’s not big enough, so Zack brings in more ammo….The Great Khali, complete in Zack Ryder gear….Woo Woo Woo….You Know It.

So Teddy puts them all on Team Long.  Everyone together now….Woo Woo Woo….You Know it.

AJ is in the ring, ready for her match against Brie Bella.

AJ wins the match with a rollup.  She did pull off the Labell Lock, but Nikki caught the ref’s decision, and Brie tried to attack her from behind, but AJ moved out-of-the-way, Brie knocked into Nikki, and was rolled up for the win.

After the match, Nikki informs us she and her sister doesn’t agree on everything.  For instance, she is on Team teddy, and Brie is on Team Johnny.

Our next match is Jack Swagger, facing Zack Ryder, now.

Zack wins the match with a Rough Ryder.  Hornswoggle ran after Vickie and when Vickie got on the apron, Jack was distracted long enough for Zack to pull off the upset victory.

Last Monday night, we see Cody Rhodes laying out The Big Show, after his match with Kane.

Earlier today, Matt Striker interviews Cody Rhodes.  Cody said he has been enjoying showing us that Big Show chokes on the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania.  But the biggest embarrassment will come on April Fool’s Day, Wrestlemania, to him.  Now, if you excuse Cody, he has a plane to catch, and leaves.

Coming up next, Big Show Vs Kane…..Part Two.

Flo Rida will appear at Wrestlemania, playing for The Rock, during his entrance in 9 days at Wrestlemania.

Big Show Vs Kane, now.

Kane is DQ’d when Cody Rhodes shows up from nowhere, to shove Show and Show chases him out of the building, meanwhile in the ring, The Viper slithers into the ring, and drops Kane with a RKO.

Our main event match tonight is Sheamus and CM Punk facing The Miz and Daniel Bryan, and coming up next….The Funky Funkasaurus, Brodus Clay is next.

WWE superstars are all over this week, and they showed them at Be A Star Program, giving an Anti-Bullying speech.

Brodus is coming out, his opponent is Heath Slater.

Big Splash, it’s over.

Coming up next, footage from Raw….End of an Era Segment with HHH, The Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels.

Zack Ryder is backstage, Eve gave him the idea of using The Great Khali and Hornswoggle to get to Wrestlemania.  So Zack isn’t just going, they both are going.  Zack said she isn’t just beautiful, but she is smart too.  Eve is offended, because it seems Zack just “discovered” this.  She walks away, and says dinner is off.  She walks away with a smile on her face, while Zack is trying to chase her down.

Raw Rebound, featuring End of an Era Segment.

Main event match is still to come, Daniel Bryan and The Miz vs CM Punk and Sheamus.

Christian is joining commentary, and our next match is The Great Khali facing Dolph Ziggler, now.

Dolph wins the match with a sleeper hold, okay not really.  he just locked on the move, and Johnny rang the bell, made Dolph the winner.  Not so fast though, Teddy gets on the mic and said the match was not over, and the referee needs to start to count to 10, he does, Dolph stays out of the ring, and Khali wins by countout.  Man, such bias from Teddy here.

Kofi and Santino come out and shove Dolph back into the ring, he is greeted by a Khali Chop.  How rude.

Our main event match, CM Punk and Sheamus Vs Daniel Bryan and The Miz, now.

Sheamus and Punk won the match with a Brogue Kick by Sheamus right on The Miz, continuing his losing streak.

The match ends with Punk and Sheamus standing tall.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

I have to say this buildup to Wrestlemania on the Smackdown side has been very poor, at best.  Raw for the most part has been consistent, while Smackdown has gotten worst every week, and I get that the three big matches for Wrestlemania are on the Raw side, but they have even dropped the ball on Sheamus, a Royal Rumble winner and his quest for the World heavyweight Title.  Now, they have next week still, but I don’t care to see the match, and in fact this should open the PPV, just to get it out-of-the-way.  I don’t believe Sheamus should win, and it’s not his fault, but rather the writers who write this out.

Having said that, this show was better than in recent weeks, but that’s not saying much.  We have 5 members of the 6 man team lined up for team Johnny Vs team Teddy, and still this is so easily one-sided, with team Johnny having the talent.  Yet, I have a suspecting feeling that team teddy wins the match, in fact, open Wrestlemania with that match, and we’ll find out right away.

We have one more week, next week on Smackdown will be mostly from Fan Access, with a few matches in between.  I don’t see many promos building up to the matches, that will take place Monday night on Raw.  What were your thoughts on the show?  Send me your thoughts by emailing me at DJKevinGillman75@aol.com or send me your thoughts on the site.
