WWE Wrestlemania 4/1/12…Once In A Lifetime….The Rock Vs John Cena

My Time Warner PPV channel showed a 2-hour Pre-show for Wrestlemania, so I tune in and all I see is Scott Stanford in a pre-taped show, overlapping 3 times?  Come on guys, at least put him at Wrestlemania Axxess, and do a real 2 hour Pre-show, give the fans something to look forward to.  I guess though the real pre-show starts at 6:30 PM, so we will see a Triple Threat Tag team match for the World Tag team Titles with Primo and Epico, or as I call them….The Colon Cousins, and Rosa Mendes, taking on the team of Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd, and The Uso Brothers.  Looking forward to that, looking forward to Wrestlemania.  Keep it locked here all night long, as we venture to the big event, in Miami, Florida.  I’ll be back at 6:30 PM.

I am having problems with my cable right now, so I am watching the live stream of the WWE Tag Team Titles, and it’s happening now.

The WWE Tag Team Champion, The Colon Cousins retained their titles with a Backstabber on Justin Gabriel.

Josh Matthews and Matt Striker are previewing the Wrestlemania card.

We are kicking the show off with Sheamus Vs Daniel Bryan, for the World Heavyweight Title.

Daniel Bryan was interviewed by Scott Stanford, and Daniel said he is ready for his match, but since Daniel pinned Sheamus, the question is what will Sheamus’ strategy be?  Then he gets AJ to parade around, with the title and scream YES!!  YES!!  YES!!

I love it.

My cable came back, we are 13 minutes away, I will be back, live at 7:00.  Keep it here locked throughout the night, Wrestlemania….is upon us.

The beautiful Lilian Garcia kicks the show off by singing “America, The Beautiful”.

We are live in Sun Life Stadium, in Miami, Florida.  Michael Cole and Jerry “The King Lawler welcome us to the show.

We kick things off for the World Heavyweight Title, Daniel Bryan Vs Sheamus, now.

Daniel Bryan is over in South Beach.

Daniel just got a kiss from AJ, and a Brogue Kick, that is all she wrote.  Yes folks, Sheamus just won the World Heavyweight Title.  Wow.

This is officially the shortest World Title match in WWE History.

Team Johnny is backstage, The Miz is trying to rally the troops.

Everyone is blowing him off, but David Otunga, gives us a flex of his muscle, and Johnny is rallying the troops now.  They are going to make Wrestlemania history, like when Hulk Hogan body slammed Andre the Giant, like when Stone Cold Steve Austin refused to submit to Bret Hart’s Sharpshooter.

This gets the team going.

WWE is paying 100 trips for Wrestlemania 29 next year, you can go to WWE.com and enter.

Kane Vs Randy Orton is up now.

Kane wins the match with a Chokeslam off the top rope.

I have to say though this match gave us “Boring” and “Daniel Bryan” chants, off to a great start, here.

Now we have our pivotal moment of the night, Mick Foley, Santino, and some guy from “Deadliest Show” trying to attack crab legs, just so Ron Simmons can join in and say…wait for it….DAMN!!!

WWE is saluting the National Guard, and with good reason.  Thank you for everything you have done.

Coming up next, for the Intercontinental Title….The Big Show Vs Cody Rhodes.

Big Show wins the match, and title with a WMD.  Big Show has his Wrestlemania Moment.

Diva Tag Team match, Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres will face Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos, now.  And yes, we get to hear Madonna’s new song “Girls Gone Wild”, as the official theme song for Wrestlemania.

Maria and Kelly win the match over Beth Phoenix with a roll up.  Not sure what this does for Maria, she comes into the match with some hurt ribs, yet she has to dance tomorrow night on “Dancing with the Stars”.  She wont’ get a title match anytime soon, I guess WWE just loves Maria Menounos.

Matt Striker is with Shawn Michaels.  Shawn said it’s an End of An Era, or End of The Game.  Yet, he holds everything in the palm of his hand.

New Sun Life Stadium record, with 78,363 fans in attendance.

Now comes Jim Ross, I guess to do commentary for the next match, Hell in a Cell, End of an Era, with HHH Vs The Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels as Special Guest Referee.

The Undertaker takes off his hood, to reveal he shaved his head.  His vintage locks are gone.  And now the Cell comes down, and we hear Metallica’s great “The Memory Remains”, who needs Madonna, when you have Metallica?

Match begins, now.

The Undertaker defeated HHH with a vintage Tombstone Piledriver.  Hands down, the best match of the night, because these three men told a story, four, if you count Charles Robinson, who was Chokeslammed after a close 2 count, by Undertaker.  HBK was in cahoots with HHH at first.  But not only did Taker not give up, but Shawn felt conflicted, with HHH punishing him with chair shots and Sledge Hammer shots, but at the end of the day, it was an incredible match with a Tombstone Piledriver.  Shawn at the end of the match, shook Taker’s hand and gave him a big hug.

Truly is an end of an era.  We even saw blood, although I believe that was accidental blood.

Undertaker is now 20-0 at Wrestlemania.  What a legacy this man has had.  Will it be his last match?

Taker and HBK help HHH up, and carry him to the back, all three stand together, and share a hug.  Now that was incredible.

Hall of Fame salute now, with all of the wrestlers coming out for their bow.

Josh Matthews is going to interview Flo Rida, and here comes Heath Slater.  When Flo comes out, Heath wants to be with Flo, performing with Heath.  But Flo doesn’t want to do that, he shoves Heath and here comes Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins.

Everyone is making an appearance at Wrestlemania, even the Bella Twins.

Speaking of that, our next match is Team Johnny (David Otunga, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, and Drew McIntyre) Vs Team Teddy (Santino Marella, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Zack Ryder, The Great Khali, and Booker T).

Team Johnny wins the match when EVE distracts Zack when the referee tries to get Eve out of the ring, The Miz pulls off a Skull Crushing Finale, and that means Drew McIntyre goes to the pay window.

And Johnny runs both Raw and Smackdown.

And Eve just kicked Zack in the balls, because she can do that, and walks away.

WWE week at Wrestlemania, in Miami.

When we come back, CM Punk is warming up, and Team Johnny walk backstage, celebrating their win.  John Laurinaitis said to Punk he looks like he is ready to beat Chris Jericho down, he wants a wrestling match, so if Punk gets DQ’d, he will lose his WWE Title.

CM Punk Vs Chris Jericho, for the WWE Title, now.

Punk won by making Jericho tap to the Anaconda Vice.  Great match between the two men, and a clean pinfall, which is always good to see.

Somebody call my Momma, The Funky Funkasaurus is out to do some time filler.

Brodus is dancing with his Momma, and a bunch of other Mommas, well, I guess everyone has to have a Wrestlemania Moment, so why not Brodus?

He is dancing with alot of “Mommas”.

It’s on to some serious business now, The Rock Vs John Cena, Once in a Lifetime…..Next.

Diddy is out to introduce Machine Gun Kelly, who sings “Invincible” with Ester Dean, and out comes John Cena.

Now, Miami’s own Flo Rida is out to perform “Good Feeling” and “Wild One”, and followed by that….The Rock.

The match is on now.

The Rock just beat John Cena.

I can’t believe it here, The Rock just pinned The Franchise with a Rock Bottom, when Cena made the mistake by coyly trying The People’s Elbow.  The veteran outsmart the student in this storyline, here.  A very good match between the two men.  Both men deserve credit here, The Rock looked in tremendous shape, and he moved around like he had no ring rust.  No end montage here, however, as the match ends, The Rock celebrates, and the show ends.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

I know many people were upset that Daniel Bryan Vs Sheamus went first, and that the match lasted 18 seconds, but not me for one simple reason.  The build to Sheamus Vs Bryan has sucked big time.  When you talk about Wrestlemania tonight, you talk about 3 matches, possibly, if you want to discuss Team Johnny Vs Team Teddy, but nothing else.  Daniel Bryan and Sheamus both are world-class athletes, and surely they have a great story to be told, but what bothered me was that neither man, on Smackdown was able to showcase that storyline.  So because of that, why bother?  Could they have drop one match?  Absolutely, could they have scale back the time in any of the matches?  Absolutely, but what match would you have scaled back?  In my opinion, both End of an Era and Punk Vs Jericho were two matches that needed time.  Now here is what I hope, and this is what I think will happen, at Extreme Rules, we will see Sheamus Vs Daniel Bryan, and the match will go at least 20 minutes.  Think of it this way, at least the two men were on Wrestlemania, unlike last year where they weren’t.

Now on to the other matches, things picked up in the Hell in a Cell match.  It’s amazing to me that when Jim Ross comes out, the announcers put the wrestlers over, and did a very good job, presenting the match.   But when Jim leaves, the two announcers continued to bicker.  I’ve said this tonight on twitter, and I’ll say it again, Jim Ross is the “Joe Tait” of the WWE, the legendary Cleveland Cavaliers play-by-play man.

But was The Undertaker Vs HHH a great match, or what, add to the drama of the near falls, and the amazing story they told, concerning HBK.  Just a fantastic match that I would watch again, and again.

Chris Jericho Vs CM Punk also told a great story, of two men who had tension.  One tried to control his emotions, while the other tried to get to him.  I also expect to see another match between these two men, either on PPV, or on Raw.  The right man won the match.

And, the main event, the match we all came to see, or watched delivered.  I even like the ending, because it makes The Rock’s legacy even larger, and it starts to cast doubt in Cena’s eyes.  The only problem I have is I see a rematch between the two men, and I truly felt there should have been one match, and one match alone.

What happens on Raw?  Join me tomorrow evening at 9:00 while we find out together.  I will watch the Hall of Fame at 8:00, but I won’t give you my thoughts, until later in the week.  I just want to watch it, then I will share my views on it this week.  What were your thoughts on the big show?  Email me at DJKevinGillman75@aol.com or send me your thoughts on the site.  Do you agree with my opinion about Bryan vs Sheamus?  Do you disagree?  let me know either way.

  4. I have been browsing online more than 3 hours lately, yet I by no means discovered any fascinating article like yours. It’s lovely value enough for me. Personally, if all website owners and bloggers made just right content material as you did, the internet might be much more useful than ever before.
