WWE Money in the Bank 7/15/12

We are less than 30 minutes away from Money in the Bank tonight.  Inside the US Airways Center.  Scott Stanford and Matt Striker welcome us to the show.

We just found out that the WWE Title match, between CM Punk and Daniel Bryan will be a No DQ match, with AJ Lee as the Special Guest Ref.

Zack Ryder and Santino are backstage, Zack is wishing Santino luck for his Money in the Bank Ladder match for the World Heavyweight Title shot.  Damien Sandow is talking about how he did Zack Ryder a favor by giving him the night off, after losing his qualifying match.  You’re welcome.

Tag Team match is set now, R-Truth and Kofi Kingston facing Hunico and Camacho.

Hunico says tonight, they have an opportunity to show they are the future in Tag Teams, with a win tonight.

Match is on now.

Truth and Kofi win the match with What’s Up.

Josh Matthews is standing by with Chris Jericho.  What is his strategy?  It’s to win, dummy.  He had invented the MITB Ladder match, but he has yet to win the match himself.  But tonight, that will change.  Because not only will he prove he is the best, that he is the Ayathollah of Rock N Rolla, all of the Jerichoholics will see he is the greatest in the world.

PPV Rundown, and in 10 minutes, the show will start.

We are live in Phoenix, Arizona, Michael Cole, Booker T, and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show.  We kick it off with the World Heavyweight Title Money in the Bank Ladder match.

Dolph Ziggler Vs Cody Rhodes Vs Tensai Vs Christian Vs Damien Sandow Vs Tyson Kidd Vs Santino Marella Vs Sin Cara.

“The Showoff” is now Mr. Money in the Bank.  He pulled it off in what was an outstanding match, between 8 men giving it their all.  Let the push for Mr. Dolph Ziggler begin, now.

Josh Matthews is standing by with the World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus.  He isn’t worried about the future, he wants to talk about now, specifically, tonight’s match with Alberto Del Rio.

Sheamus’ big prize isn’t a fancy car, it’s the World Heavyweight Title.  He will tear Alberto away tonight.

Justin Roberts introduces the return of The Miz.

Where was he the past two months?  He was filming a movie, The Marine 3.  For the first time in a long time, he was treated with respect for the first time in a long time.  He won’t yell, but just tell us facts.  He has won Money in the Bank Ladder match, and cashed in for the World Title.  And that is why he is saying he will not stand by for long, there won’t be 4 men in the Money in the Bank Ladder match, there is now 5.  And he will cash in soon enough, because he is The Miz, and he’s not just a movie star, he’s awesome.

Raw’s biggest moment for Mick Foley was the night he became the WWE Champion, for the first time.

Next week, July 23rd, Raw’s 1,000th episode, starting at 8:00 PM, and will forever go 3 hours.

Our next match is for the World Heavyweight Title, Sheamus Vs Alberto Del Rio.

Sheamus wins the match with a Brogue Kick.  Del Rio worked over his shoulder, but the man from Ireland prevailed.

After the match, Ricardo Rodriguez and ADR attacks Sheamus, and lays him out with boots.

Dolph Ziggler came out, Del Rio got into his face, and Dolph knocks him down with the briefcase, he hands it to the ref, and we get a….

Brogue Kick.

But the match never took place, so Dolph still has his briefcase.

We see the footage from earlier tonight, with an interview Josh Matthews had with Daniel Bryan.

AJ is Daniel’s future wife, that slap she laid on to him is honest passion.

The Tag Team Champion, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth come out to commentate the next match, which is The Prime Time Players Vs The Colon Cousins.

The Colon Cousins win the match with a roll up, but that’s okay, as AW said, they are still the Number One Contenders to the Tag team Titles.  Which shifts their attention to the champs.  R-Truth spills a water bottle all over AW.  These four men will hook it up soon.

The WWE Title match, CM Punk Vs Daniel Bryan, in a No DQ match, with AJ as Special Guest Ref is up now.

Now it’s Matt Striker’s turn to interview AJ.  She is in full control, and just because Punk broke her heart in front of the entire world, and she slapped him doesn’t mean what an amazing human being he is.  Daniel is her first love, and she will always have a place in her heart for Daniel, even though he is lying to get further in his career.  She doesn’t know if she wants to kiss them, or rip them apart….

The match is next, she has to go.

She smiles as she heads to the ring.

Here we go.

Punk wins the match by putting Daniel Bryan through a table.  Incredible match, and AJ didn’t ruin the ending.  She was put out earlier in the match.  Then she came back, and was conflicted with both men putting through so much punishment.  She stands over Daniel, handing Punk the WWE Title.

Oh boy, I was afraid of this.  Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks are about to be fed to the wolves by Ryback.

2 on 1 match, now.

Ryback’s finishing move is now called Shell Shock, and he nails it, pinning Reks.

Feed him more.

Chris Jericho’s favorite Raw moment was his debut in 1999.  That was a cool moment.  We are 8 days away from Raw’s 1,000th episode.

6 Diva Tag match is up now.  Layla, Tamina Snuka, and Kaitlyn Vs The Divas of Doom and Eve.

Team Layla wins with a neckbreaker.

Summerslam is 5 weeks away, on August 19th.

We started the night with a Money in the Bank Ladder match, and we end with one.  This match, for a shot at the WWE Title.  Kane Vs Chris Jericho Vs The Big Show Vs The Miz Vs John Cena.

And just like that, John Cena grabs the case.  Big Show knocked out Jericho, he knocked out Miz, but Cena blocked Show’s punch with the briefcase, and it snapped, ending the match.

The show ends here.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

This was a good show tonight, everyone worked hard, I just had one small problem.  Cena didn’t need this MITB win, he’s John Cena.  It’s like Hulk Hogan winning the Royal Rumble, oh wait, he did.  Bad example.  The point is, all he has to do is tell Vince to give him the title, and Vince gives it to him, on a silver platter.  Which will happen, more than likely at Summerslam.

Congratulations to Dolph Ziggler though, he is finally getting that big push, and I hope they let him milk the win as much as they can.  Cash it in at Wrestlemania 29.

Both matches delivered though, in terms of excitement.  That’s what I will say about that.

The two title matches were very good too, and although I did enjoy seeing the Divas of Doom back together, the other matches were okay.

Overall, a good PPV tonight, and it sets up the biggest party of the summer.  5 weeks away, and now we are 8 days away from Raw’s 1,000th episode.  What did you think of the show?  Sound away, let me know.

I am assuming Nataylia and Beth are the Divas of Doom..gotta love those unplanned, not pushed, matches they have..

Everything worked according to plan..about time Ziggler gets a shot to see if he can carry the ball for a while..

    • Yes they are, and yes you’re right. They can at least advertise those matches on the website. I agree, Zig Man is the way to go.
