WWE Wrestlemania 28 8/25/12….The Rock Vs John Cena….Once In A Lifetime

Every year, NBC gives us a big match from Wrestlemania.  Last year, it was HHH Vs The Undertaker, the year before that, it was Shawn Michaels Vs The Undertaker.  This year is no different, tonight, we will witness The Rock Vs John Cena.  Here we go.

This was a great moment, because WWE built this match for a little over a year, starting on the night after Wrestlemania 27, one year later, we have this match.  Two men who have cemented their names in the business.  Two men who have gone their own separate ways.  One, left to go to Hollywood, and has become a bona fide movie star.  The other, still living his dream, in the Wrestling world.  Polar opposites, yet so many similarities.  This is why this match worked, for any wrestling fan, these promos were fun to watch.  And now we check out the two men, and how different they are, yet they both have been brought up the same way, with a loving family watching their backs, and their roads to the business are very similar.

Now we get to see backstage shots of the two men, before their match.  Coming up next, the match.

Sean “Diddy” Combs comes out to introduce MG Kelly and Skylar Grey to perform “Invincible”.  Here comes Cena, heading to the ring.

Flo Rida now performs “Wild One” and this brings out The Rock.

The match starts, now.

The Rock wins the match with a Rock Bottom, after Cena tried a People’s Elbow.  The show ends with The Rock celebrating, and Cena was at the ramp, in disbelief.  Flo Rida “Wild One” is playing with the show ending.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

I enjoyed this presentation, we had the intro in the beginning, sort of back story between the two men, from the one hour “Once in a Lifetime” special they had aired, before Wrestlemania.  Then we had the match itself, which was exciting, and had me on the edge of my seat when I first saw this match, not knowing what was going to happen.  The only thing I would have changed is Cena playing up that mistake he made, and possibly doubting if he has enough to ever pin The Rock.  There is a chance, these two men will face each other again at Royal Rumble.  We will have to see.  What were your thoughts on the show?  Send me them, here.
