WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/24/13…Kofi Believes In The Shield

We are in Omaha, Nebraska. Tonight, we see a match for the Unites States Title between Dean Ambrose of The Shield taking on Kofi Kingston. We will also get an update on HHH, who seemed to pass out this past Monday night on Raw.

Smackdown is now.

Miz TV kicks the show off, and Miz has Fandango as his guest, along with Summer Rae.

The two start to bicker, Miz called Fandango a bag of skittles, which was trending on Twitter, and Fandango called him boring.

Wade Barrett shows up.

Wade tells Fandango a pathetic ballerina, who walked out on him out of their tag match to dance on Monday night.

The Miz informs Barrett they have a match tonight for the Intercontinental Title, and he made him tap out at Wrestlemania pre-show, he will do it again.

Miz and Barrett start to fight among each other, and the match takes place, next.

Barrett loses by DQ when Fandango kicks Miz in the head, after Miz had taken Fandango out. Wade and Fandango start to gain up on Miz, but Barrett nails Fandango with a Bull Hammer Elbow.

I smell a Triple Threat match in the future here.

Daniel Bryan is talking to himself, lacing up his boot. Kane tries to talk some sense to him, saying they lost as a team, Kane lost on Monday night, Daniel thinks he is insinuating that Daniel wasn’t there for Kane, and he is the weak link of the team.

Jack Swagger is in the ring, waiting for Daniel Bryan. The match is on, now.

Daniel Bryan wins the match with a No Lock, making Swagger tap out. Daniel yells out who is the weaker link, now?

He hits another No Lock on Swagger.

Next, who was the Last Man Standing from this past Sunday’s Extreme Rules?

They show us stills of this past week’s Extreme Rules between John Cena Vs Ryback, where both men are laid out, and taken with paramedics.

Cena was banged up, but he should be ready to go this Monday on Raw.

Last Monday night, Ryback issued a challenge to Cena at Payback in an Ambulance Match.

It’s official, at WWE Payback, it will be Cena Vs Ryback in an Ambulance Match.

Damien Sandow and Matt Striker are in the ring, dressed like they are at a funeral.

The last few weeks, Damien has watched two superstars embarrass themselves more and more, with a Tug-of-War, Arm Wrestling Match, and Truck Pull. And you guys seemed to have enjoyed that. It’s what he calls common denominator.

He has tied knots, and tell us anyone that can untie it is a Gordeon Knight.

He wants Striker to attempt to untie a Gordeon Knot.

He can’t do it, he just embarrassed the Substitute Teacher’s Union, call Washington, this is what is wrong with education.

Here comes Sheamus.

He finds it troubling that Damien is spending his spare time with knots. But nonetheless, he wants to solve the problem of the Gordeon Knots.

Damien gives him permission.

Damien wants to help, watch and learn….SILENCE!!

He has some pliers to cut the knot, and it’s solved. BRILLIANT!!

You’re welcome.

Sheamus wants to congratulate Sandow, and do it now. He missed the Brogue Kick.

Sheamus can’t ever meet his mental challenge, but with the crowd, at least he’s not alone.

Sheamus wants to teach Damien Newton’s Law, and he throws Striker right into Sandow. Gravity, what comes up, must go down.

Coming up next, Chris Jericho will take on The Big Show.

This Monday night, Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel returns with Chris’ guest being none other than Paul Heyman.

Jericho wins the match by countout, hitting the Code Breaker outside of the ring. Big Show has a chair, but Jericho slides it right into him, and nails him with the chair.

Next, an update on HHH from this past Monday Night.

We are in Omaha, Nebraska with some Sonic product placement.

Raw Rebound, featuring HHH Vs Heyman’s newest client, Curtis Axel.

Cole said that HHH has post concussion symptoms, and he will be out of action for quite some time.

Here comes Paul Heyman’s newest client, the artist formerly known as Michael McGillicutty, now Curtis Axel.

Paul Heyman is accredited to having the beast in coordinated himself, Brock Lesnar. Brock is a first ballot future Hall of Famer. He also managed the man who is the former WWE Champion for a unpresented 434 days, in CM Punk. Do you see a pattern here? Whenever Heyman takes in a talent, success happens, they become a WWE Champion, they become a future WWE Hall of Famer, and when he says this guy has the good, then he has the goods….Curtis Axel. And what he did at Raw this past Monday, well, he will tell us all what he did.

Curtis did more in one day, taking out HHH that his own father and grandfather had done their entire careers. His name is Curtis Axel, and that was just day one.

Curtis is in action, next.

Curtis is facing Sin Cara, now.

Curtis win the match with a one-armed swinging neckbreaker, he is calling Axel Grinder.

Next, the United States Title match, with Kofi Kingston, trying to win back the US Title against Dean Ambrose.

The Shield attack Kofi for the DQ, but here comes Randy Orton and Sheamus to help, and all chaos is ensued.

But wait….Teddy Long makes his presence known, and orders a 6 man tag match, now.

The Shield wins when Dean Ambrose gives Kofi Kingston the Headlock Driver, and we had all men knocked down. Total chaos, and we end the show with The Shield celebrating in the ring.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

Another fun episode tonight that featured a 6-man tag main event, putting The Shield over. I am still not sure why The Shield has all the titles, because to me, that never should have been the plan. You remember all of the “injustice” talk, and righting the wrong? So, in other words, the wrong was The Shield not wearing gold? Regardless, they are fun to watch together as a unit.

I am looking forward to seeing The Highlight Reel this Monday night, and see how Chris and Paul interact.

Still not sure about the Curtis Axel, I’d rather he go by Joe Hennig, it’s certainly a more marketable name, but I’ll give it a chance.

I am becoming more and more of a fan of Summer Rae. I see nothing wrong with a WWE Diva being a manager, at least right now. If she does get into the ring, take your time with it.

Good match with Jericho and Big Show.

Smackdown has certainly picked up over the last few weeks, and at times has been the best wrestling show of the week. Let’s hope this continues. What did you think of the show? Send me your thoughts. I will talk to you on Monday.
