WWE Battleground 10/6/13

Tonight, the battlegrounds have been decided, and the battle brings, live in Buffalo, New York. Our panel welcomes us to the show.

Josh Matthews, The Miz, Titus O’ Neil, and Tensai are a part of the panel.

They discuss the matches they are looking forward to seeing. The Miz wants Daniel Bryan to take care of Randy Orton, Titus is looking for The Rhodes Family Vs The Shield, and Tensai wants to see RVD Vs Alberto Del Rio.

Renee Young welcome us to the show, she has a pool for the WWE fans to vote on the best Power Couple in WWE. The choices are….A. HHH and Stephanie McMahon. B. Edge and Lita C. Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth, and D. Booker T and Sharmell.

We take a look at what CM Punk did to Curtis Axel this past Monday night on Raw. Later tonight, Punk faces Ryback. And we have Paul Heyman standing by with Ryback.

Heyman says tonight is about standing up to a bully, and his big, bad, beautiful man Ryback will take care of the “bully” CM Punk.

Michael Cole, JBL, and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show. Our first match to kick off the PPV is indeed the Hardcore Battleground Rules match between RVD and Del Rio.

And, a match Damien Sandow will watch very closely, and here he comes for his match with Dolph Ziggler.

Damien reminds us he is Mr. Money in the Bank, and after the Hardcore Rules match, we might see the guaranteed next World Heavyweight Champion make his presence again. You’re welcome.

Ziggler Vs Sandow is now.

Ziggler wins with a Zig Zag.

By WWE logic, I fully expect Sandow to cash in his MITB briefcase, since he has been on a losing streak.

We see footage from last Monday night, when The McMahons gave the Rhodes Family a proposition for a match, later tonight.

The panel now talk about this match.

Renee Young is in the social media room, reading some tweets. Little Torito shows up. Oh boy.

The winner of the best Power Couple in WWE? Edge and Lita. HHH is not amused.

We see footage from last week on Monday night, with Orton destroying Daniel Bryan.

Prediction time, The Miz wants Daniel to take out Orton. Titus agrees with this. Tensai is going with Daniel, and has a beard.

Next, kicking off Battleground, RVD Vs Alberto Del Rio in a Battleground Hardcore Rules match.

Show will start in 2 minutes.

We are live in Buffalo, New York for the first every (And possibly last) Battleground. Michael Cole, Jerry “The King” Lawler, and JBL welcome us to the show.

We kick off the PPV with the Battleground Hardcore Rules match for the World Heavyweight Title….RVD Vs Alberto Del Rio.

Del Rio retains his World Heavyweight Title making RVD tap out to the Cross Arm Breaker, after Rob missed a Van Terminator.

No Damien Sandow sighting.

Zeb Colter is with the Real Americans.

They sae some sneaky Canadians crossing the border. They are going to face the team of Santino and Great Khali, later tonight.

I guess the epic tag team match is up now.

The Real Americans win the match when Antonio Cesaro pulled off the Cesaro Swing on Great Khali. Very impressive here. My god, I had never seen someone the size of Khali pull that off.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and WWE is proud to team up with Susan G. Komen to fight this disease. Go to Komen.org/WWE to see how you can help fight.

We The People, indeed.

Our next match is for the Intercontinental Title….Curtis Axel Vs R-Truth.

Curtis retains his title with a Rolling Neckbreaker.

They show us earlier tonight in the Battleground Kick-off match between Damien Sandow and Dolph Ziggler. Sandow tweaked his knee, and in due part did not cash in his briefcase earlier tonight.

WWE Divas Championship match, Brie Bella Vs AJ Lee.

AJ wins the match with an assist from Tamina, taking out Nikki. Brie turned her back on AJ, and the champ rolled her up.

Our next match is The Rhodes Family Vs The Shield. Dean Ambrose is in Rollins and Reigns corner, with Dusty in his sons’ corner.

Renee Young is with The Rhodes Family. Dusty tells us family is at stake. People trying to look for jobs, to help their families know what’s at stake. Win or lose, they will hold their heads held high.

Goldust says that tonight they will show that the Hounds of Justice are nothing but corporate puppets.

Cody tells us he would be lucky to have the charisma of Dusty, the workrate and heart of Dustin. They aren’t the perfect family, and Goldust does his famous growl, and he says tonight, they fight for family.

Our big tag match is now.

The Rhodes Family beat The Shield, when Dusty took care of Ambrose, Dustin took care of Reigns, and Cody pins Rollins with Crossroads.

Tender moment for The Rhodes Family. Crowd is going nuts for this, as all three men hug in the ring.

We even saw the bionic elbow by papa, showing Ambrose that he still has it. I loved seeing that.

The entire WWE superstars congratulate The Rhodes Family at the top of the ramp.

What a moment.

WWE Hell in a Cell is on October 27th.

We hear from the Battleground panel.

Brad Maddox is on the phone with Stephanie McMahon, they left and are leaving Brad in charge. Brad needs Vickie Guerrero to help. She just laughs, and runs off.

Kofi Kingston Vs Bray Wyatt is now.

Bray wins the match with Sister Abigail. The highlight of this match though was when Bray was getting excited, and hanging on the ropes, he started crawling like a spider towards Kofi, and Kofi scooted out of the ring.

After the match, Rowan and Harper took care of Kofi. And Bray told us there are just mannequins coming to destroy us, but one by one, they will fall to Bray.

Follow the Buzzards.

Moments ago, we see what we just saw….Kofi getting destroyed.

We are live in Buffalo, New York at the First Niagara Center. We also see the replay of Cesaro swinging Khali with a Cesaro Swing.

Our next match is CM Punk taking on the big guy, Ryback.

Punk won the match with a low blow when Heyman has the attention of the referee, the old knee gave him some trouble, there.

The superstar panel are here, talking about Punk Vs Ryback, and will preview Orton Vs Bryan.

There was a power outage in Buffalo, so the PPV went dark, but we are back, which means our main event is up now….WWE Title match. Daniel Bryan Vs Randy Orton.

There was no winner, because when Daniel had the Yes Lock on Randy, Big Show comes out, knocks out the ref. Then he knocks out Daniel Bryan. Brad Maddox calls for, I guess newly hired Scott Armstrong? Orton makes the pin, and Show pulls Armstrong out, knocks him out. Big Show enters the ring, Orton yells at him, touches Show, and Big Show knocks out Orton. The show ends here, yeah, let’s forget that the match was still going on, let’s forget that Maddox could call ANY ref to come out and count.

The show ends with Big Show standing tall.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

I hate having 2 PPVs in October, and THIS is one of the many reasons why I do. Yes, WWE, let’s screw the loyal fans that pay their hard-earned money in watching these PPVs. Let’s screw with the thousands of people who pay their hard-earned money to watch these PPVs live. I would have been okay with this if it was on Raw, in fact the ending of the match felt like a damn episode of a SHITTY episode of Raw, but not a PPV. This is something WCW would have done, in fact, this would have been something TNA had done during the Russo days. So, is this REALLY what’s best for business?
