WWE Monday Night Raw 1/20/14…Batista Returns

Happy Martin Luther King Jr Day, the dream lives on.

We are 6 days away from Royal Rumble, which means we are close to beginning The Road to Wrestlemania.

We are live in Dayton, Ohio.

The Authority are in the ring.

The Royal Rumble beings The Road To Wrestlemania, where one man will guarantee a Wrestlemania main event.

Which brings HHH to introduce us to a man returning and being in the Royal Rumble match. They have been friends, they have been foes, you can say they have evolved together….

Here comes Randy Orton.

Randy asks them who the hell they are, and Stephanie asks Randy who the hell he is. 10 days ago, they made the monumental announcement with the WWE Network. He had many eyes on him, for that very reason. And what happened after he lost to Kofi Kingston? He flipped out, and attacked an old man, with his back to Randy.

We see footage with Orton attacking Cena’s father.

Stephanie tells him he has some choices to make. They thought he could handle the pressure of being the man, but maybe he can’t. They can do something about this, and strip him of the title.

Randy put the blame on Steph and Hunter, saying they gave him a rematch with John Cena, they signed Brock Lesnar to come after him, and now they signed Batista. This is all of their fault.

HHH brings up Orton having this great opportunity, and he lost to Kofi Kingston.

But tonight, he gives Randy a chance to redeem himself when he faces Kofi Kingston. And he shows us outside door, John Cena has yet to show up, this is the door he will enter and he can see when he’s there.

But now, here is Batista.

Batista gives Steph and HHH a hug, greets them hello. Randy holds out his hand, but Batista tells him point-blank he is back for the WWE World Title, and will win the Rumble. So he gives Randy notice, and walks away.

Tonight, Brock Lesnar and The Big Show go face to face, and next…Big E, and The Rhodes Family Vs The Shield.

The Royal Rumble pre-show match this Sunday is for the WWE Tag Team Titles….The Rhodes Family Vs The New Age Outlaws.

The Shield win the match, with Rollins pinning Big E. Langston.

Michael Cole, JBL, and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show.

They show us what took place last week on Raw, when Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt had their confrontation.

Daniel Bryan breaks his silence, next.

We are 35 days, 2 hours, and 23 minutes away from The WWE Network.

Daniel Bryan is in the ring.

Did Daniel Bryan have a plan when he joined The Wyatt Family? He had to take him down mentally. And he had to stand side by side with three men he despised, the most. But Bray Wyatt, he exposed him. And this Sunday, he gets to do the same thing again. He found out Rowan and Harper will be in the Rumble match, which means he can go one on one with Bray Wyatt.

We’re here.

Bray shows up on the Titantron, telling him where he comes from, he doesn’t like traitors, and this Sunday, he will expose him as the gutless coward that he is. So before this match, kiss his mom goodbye, and tell her he loves her.

And we go to a commercial.

We come back and see Fandango Vs Xavier Woods.

Fandango wins with his leg drop. We have an Emma sighting too. She’s Emmataining.

Stephanie comes in while Brad and Kane are talking. She wants to ask what Kane was thinking when he put his hands on CM Punk. He is an official now, and can’t put his hands on a WWE Superstar.

Kane apologizes, but Stephanie says she needs to apologize to CM Punk.

Kane is in the ring, we see what took place last Friday Night, when Kane chokeslammed Punk.

Kane asks for CM Punk to come out, and here he comes.

It was wrong for Kane to use his anger on Punk, even though he did save him from a beatdown on 5 other guys. So he is apologizing for putting his hands on Punk.

Punk didn’t hear him, and Kane made it clear, he is apologizing.

Punk accepts his apology, and apologizes for this, and he attacks Kane.

Brad Maddox comes out, and he tells Kane to back down, he wants Punk to have a match, not against Kane but either against these two men.

The New Age Outlaws. Specifically, against “Badass” Billy Gunn.

Punk hits a GTS for the win. He went after Roaddogg too, for all of his troubles.

Brad Maddox congratulates Punk on the win, but Kane interrupts him. He tells Punk he is the best in the world, but at this Rumble match, he will prove it. He will be the number one entrant in the match.

They show us the outside door, and see Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman enter.

Royal Rumble…inside the numbers video is playing.

Mae Young tribute video is playing now.

Rey Mysterio Vs Alberto Del Rio, next.

Del Rio wins the match with a Cross Arm Breaker.

After the match, here comes Batista.

Spinebuster…thumps up….thumbs down….Batstia Bomb.

Big Show is talking to some dude. Our face to face confrontation is next.

It’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so we honor him everyday.

The Big Show makes his way to the ring.

This Sunday will be his biggest challenge of his career. He gives us a good impression of Heyman. He calls Brock to come out now.

But it’s just Heyman that come out instead.

And here comes the pain.

Brock leaves the ring again, and Big Show tells him to drag his ass out here and get in his face.

Brock comes back to the ring, flinches on Big Show. He tries to attack Show, but we get another hip toss out of the ring. Brock takes off the announce table, flips out a few monitors, tries to take a chair into the ring, but Show caught it and took him down, again.

Brock backs out, and this Sunday these two hook it up.

Later tonight, Randy Orton Vs Kofi Kingston.

John Cena still hasn’t arrived.

AJ Lee is now the longest reigning Divas Champion of all time. Earlier tonight, she threw a party, but nobody showed up. Bad News Barrett came over for the bad news….nobody likes her.

She of course was asked by Josh Matthews how does she feel nobody likes her, and she threw cake all over Tamina.

Tamina and AJ Vs The Funkadactyls.

The Funkadactyls win when Naomi rolls up AJ for the win.

They show us footage from earlier tonight when Batista returned.

Next, we will see The Uso’s taking on Rowan and Harper.

Royal Rumble rundown, and now a video about Martin Luther King Jr.

The Uso’s Vs Rowan and Harper, now.

This Friday night on Smackdown, it will be Big Show and Rey taking on The Real Americans.

The Uso’s win the match, with a rollup. Daniel Bryan comes out and beats down Bray Wyatt.

This Sunday, these two men hook it up.

For the Royal Rumble kick-off show, we will have The New Age Outlaws face The Rhodes Family for the WWE Tag Team Titles.

Our expert panelists will be none other than “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan.

Our main event, Randy Orton Vs Kofi Kingston is now.

Kofi is DQ’d because you know who showed up, and kicked Orton’s ass all over the building. Orton ran around like a screaming coward, and went outside. He went into another person’s SUV, and drove off. Cena celebrated with the crowd, ending the show.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

For the final show before the Royal Rumble, tonight’s show was okay. Nothing huge happened, including Batista’s promo. It was just simple, and to the point. Even his run-in with Del Rio was nothing monumental.

They saved the big things for the last half of the show.

I’ll say this again, but Daniel Bryan is just amazing. The guy receives the biggest ovation from the crowd, I mean he receives the biggest crowd pop since Stone Cold Steve Austin, he pinned Cena clean in the ring last year, yet he never had his moment.

He needs that this year, now is the time for him to win the Rumble, and main event Wrestlemania, but that more than likely won’t happen.

Even though Cena Vs Bryan II can be fun.

But I expect instead to see Orton Vs Batista.

Lesnar and Show had another good segment, and their match this Sunday should be awesome.

I am just not sure why The Authority are trying to act like faces, when they are heels.

But whatever, Royal Rumble is this Sunday. I can’t wait to see it. How do you feel about tonight’s show? Do you agree with me? Disagree? Send me your thoughts and feelings.
