WWE Royal Rumble 1/26/14

The Road To Wrestlemania begins tonight, when the winner of a 30 man battle royal, moves on to Wrestlemania to face the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

We are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our Royal Rumble Kick-Off show begins now.

Josh Matthews is with “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Shawn Michaels, and “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair.

All three men are former Royal Rumble winners.

Tonight, our Royal Rumble Kick-off match are for the WWE Tag Team Titles are The Rhodes Brothers facing The New Age Outlaws.

Flair and Duggan are going for the champs, HBK is going for his boys.

Renee Young is in the Social Media room, we want to discuss the Royal Rumble match.

John Cena Vs Randy Orton also tonight, for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. We see what took place two weeks ago when Orton took out Cena’s father.

Flair believes Orton will win the match. Shawn and Duggan will go with Cena.

The commentators, JBL, Jerry “The King” Lawler, and Michael Cole make their way.

But we have to see the wrestlers choose their numbers with Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox.

Daniel Bryan Vs Bray Wyatt, later tonight.

Duggan and HBK are going with Bryan and Flair is going with Bray.

Wooooo

WWE Tag Team Title match is up now.

My god, we have new Tag Champs. Goldust was on the outside, and Cody was pinned with a Famouser.

The first time the Outlaws have been Tag Champs since 1999.

The expert panel is with us. Brock Lesnar Vs Big Show tonight? Shawn believes Show could win, but Flair disagrees saying Brock still is in control. Duggan might agree.

Royal Rumble match, it’s all about the numbers video.

Hacksaw is going with Ziggler. HBK is going with The Shield, and Flair is going with Batista.

Our big PPV will kick off with Daniel Bryan Vs Bray Wyatt.

The Royal Rumble starts now, Michael Cole, JBL, and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show.

Daniel Bryan Vs Bray Wyatt is up, now.

Bray Wyatt wins the match with a Sister Abigail on the barricade, and another one, clean in the ring. Fantastic match, that had Rowan and Harper leave the ring. Bray wanted to do this himself to prove a point.

I still have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of Daniel, and he will win the Rumble.

Renee Young is with Paul Heyman. Paul said that his client, Brock Lesnar will face the winner of Orton Vs Cena, but first, he will destroy The Big Show.

Ben Roethlisberger is in the house, what? He’s not in the Pro Bowl, or the Super Bowl? Shocked.

Royal Rumble expert panelists here.

Shawn will go with Daniel Bryan to win anyday of the week. Flair tells us he has Brock. Hacksaw has Big Show.

Battle of the giants…Brock Lesnar Vs The Big Show, now.

Wow, Brock wins in quick fashion. Before the match started, Brock beat the crap out of Show with a steel chair. Big Show knocked down Brock, but couldn’t make the cover. Somehow, someway, Brock nails a F-5 on Show to win in good fashion.

Now, Brock has a chair.

Brock uses 3 different chairs, and took him down piece by piece. Brock Lesnar made a statement here.

We come back with a promo from The Shield.

Night after night, The Shield has been a dominant force, and they don’t make friends. So all 27 men will be dumped, and fall. It will be the three of them remaining. At that point, it will be every man for himself. But no matter who is left standing, The Shield will be an incredible force.

Now they want to know the numbers, and start bickering in front of each other. But Rollins makes it simple, the only number that matters? 3. Believe in The Shield.

Randy Orton is with Renee Young.

Orton has already beaten Cena, but after tonight, Cena goes to the back of the line.

Renee brings up all of the challengers in front of Randy.

When you’re at the top of the mountain, a line is formed. But Batista, Brock Lesnar, they are good, but not great. Orton is the one true face of WWE. He will make sure at the end of tonight, it is definitely not John Cena, either.

Wrestlemania 30 is 70 days away.

We are sold out in Pittsburgh.

WWE World Heavyweight Title match, John Cena Vs Randy Orton is now.

Orton wins the match when The Wyatts come out to distract Cena, and Orton hits a RKO to win the match, and retain his title. But the story here were the awesome chants the crowd gave. Needless to say, they don’t care about Cena Vs Orton.

We had Goldberg chant, Y2J, Daniel Bryan chant, even a we want divas chant.

Now the Wyatts nail Cena, and we end with Sister Abigail.

WWE Network will debut in 29 days, 1 hour, 29 minutes, and 34 seconds.

Renee Young is with the New Age Outlaws, the new WWE Tag Team Champions.

They are now 6-time Tag Team Champions.

14 years in between title reigns, that’s history in the making. The Rhodes Family found out what the whole world found out, nobody does tag team better than The Outlaws. It’s time to party, so they have 2 words for Renee…new champs.

WWE Elimination Chamber is on February 23rd.

Thoughts from the superstars about tonight’s Royal Rumble match.

We hear from the panelists about their picks for the Rumble.

Hacksaw picks Ziggler. Shawn chooses The Shield or CM Punk. Flair still goes with his friend, Batista….Woooooooo

CM Punk is number 1. Who’s number 2?

Seth Rollins is number 2.

Number 3 is….

Damien Sandow.

Number 4 is….

Cody Rhodes.

Sandow is eliminated by Punk.

Number 5 is….

Kane.

Kane is eliminated by Punk.

Number 6 is…

NXT’s Alexander Rusev.

Number 7 is….

Jack Swagger.

Number 8 is…

Kofi Kingston.

Number 9 is…

Jimmy Uso.

Number 10 is Goldust.

Rusev is eliminated by everyone but Jimmy and Rollins.

Kofi was moved out of the ring, but was caught by Rusev. Rusev beat the crap out of Kofi on the barricade, but Kofi leapt back into the ring, without touching the ground. Incredible.

Number 11 is….

Dean Ambrose.

Number 12 is….

Dolph Ziggler.

Number 13 is…

R-Truth.

Truth is eliminated by Dean Ambrose.

Jimmy Uso is eliminated by Ambrose.

Number 14 is…

Kevin Nash.

Swagger is eliminated by Nash.

Number 15 is…

Roman Reigns.

Kofi is eliminated by Reigns.

Ziggler is eliminated by Reigns.

Nash is eliminated by Reigns.

Number 16 is….

The Great Khali.

Khali is eliminated by The Shield.

Cody Rhodes is eliminated by Goldust.

Goldust is eliminated by Reigns.

Number 17 is….

Sheamus.

Number 18 is…

The Miz.

Number 19 is….

Fandango.

Pittsburgh crowd loves him.

Number 20 is….

El Torito.

I am not joking here.

Fandango is eliminated by El Torito.

El Torito is eliminated by Reigns.

Number 21 is….

Antonio Cesaro.

Number 22 is…

Luke Harper.

Cesaro gave Rollins about 22 Cesaro swings, it even made me dizzy.

Number 23 is…

Jey Uso.

Number 24 is…

JBL.

Reigns eliminates JBL

Number 25 is….

Erick Rowan.

The Miz is eliminated by Luke Harper.

Jey Uso is eliminated by Luke Harper.

Number 26 is….

Ryback.

Number 27 is….

Alberto Del Rio.

Number 28 is…

Batista.

Rowan is eliminated by Batista.

Ryback is eliminated by Batista.

Alberto Del Rio is eliminated by Batista.

Number 29 is….

Big E. Langston.

Number 30 is…

Rey Mysterio.

Sadly, no Daniel Bryan.

Big E. Langston is eliminated by Sheamus.

The Pittsburgh crowd hates everything any wrestler pulls, because they expected Daniel Bryan.

Rollins eliminates Mysterio.

Luke Harper is eliminated by Reigns.

Ambrose tries to eliminate Reigns, and gets into it with Rollins. But then Reigns eliminates Rollins, Ambrose, and Cesaro.

Roman Reigns has now eliminated Kane’s 2001 record of 11 eliminations.

The final four are Batista, Reigns, Punk, and Sheamus.

Punk is eliminated by Kane, who came from the crowd and he chokeslams Punk through the Spanish Announce Table.

We are down to 3 now.

Reigns eliminates Sheamus, breaking the record.

Down to the final two men. Batista and Roman Reigns.

Batista wins the Rumble match, eliminating Reigns. The crowd hates it, but in Batista’s words….deal with it. Pyros go off, and the crowd wanted Daniel Bryan. The show ends here.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

It’s not Batista’s fault that the crowd crapped on him. Batista returning is a good thing, always been a fan of his. It’s just that the fans want to see Daniel Bryan, they deserve to see Daniel Bryan win the big title. He is such a different performer. He can do anything, and the crowd loves him no matter what. I had read he wasn’t going to be in the Rumble, but I still believed he would. If they are truly “protecting” as they say they are from a concussion, then why did he take so many dangerous bumps in that particular match? And to make matters worst, he lost. I was thinking since he lost, he would come back in the Rumble and win, but nothing happened.

Is WWE truly that out of touch to see that the fans are truly into him? The fans are sick and tired of seeing Cena Vs Orton, remember, they are the paying audience. That’s what is best for business.

I liked the PPV, I truly did. The matches were placed where they should have been, I just didn’t agree with the ending result. Now, WWE might have no other choice but to turn Batista heel, just to make him winning the Rumble match work.

But where does Daniel’s Wrestlemanias dream begin? I wish it was Shawn Michaels, but I just have the feeling that ship sailed.

Cena Vs Bray Wyatt? Batista Vs Orton? We will have to tune in to Raw, to see where our Road to Wrestlemania begins in 2013. What did you think of the show? Send me your thoughts.

Big Dave probably wishes he’d put a little more effort into the whole MMA thing this morning…cause he’s doomed…good thing they’re launching the WWE Network so everybody can see Wrestlemania at a discount…cause the buy rate on this thing would crater..

Did WWE see the end of Raw two weeks ago…Bryan is the The Man right now..Cena has a nice Calvin Klein underwear endorsement, while Orton is what he always has been…good wrestler, but not gonna carry the ball forever..

That pop Bryan got during the cage match was simply amazing…

Who decided Nash was worth flying in…again…and why did they have the little guy from the tag team I fast forward through every week in this Rumble? Pathetic..really pathetic…and you know they’re going to force feed us Randy and John…again…at the next PPV…

    • I hope they don’t, but somehow I think you’re right. I wish I had a voice in that meeting in WWE, because you and I both see what they don’t. I don’t mind Nash being in there, but you’re right about Torito. How sad is it that Primo and Epico don’t get in, but their mascot does?

      • adztheman says:

This is why they have issues with guys like Ziggler, who takes to radio and social media and expresses frustration over booking…if this is indeed the start of the Road To WrestleMania..and I still maintain its SummerSlam that starts that process…then take it seriously, and have the 30 most legit guys in there, that have a reason to be there…have no issue with final four…but why Batistia…why?

      • It’s in Big Dave’s contract? LOL One thing though is Sheamus has looked very good in the 2 days he has been back. Good to see him again.

      • adztheman says:

It likely is…but why was Bryant totally absent from the process? He worked the show, with a concussion, so why not have him as one of the 30? Are we getting Bryan/Taker at Mania? Where was the Dead Man?
If you’re going to have goofy wildcards as part of the process, then bump that number back to 40…that Rumble was fun to watch, and plenty of people who should have been there were able to be a part of that number…
Are they going to use Nash again? Are we back to using middle age guys to get some adults back since their product, aimed at eight year olds, isn’t all that compelling?

      • I still think we are going with Taker/brock but what confuses me is after last night, you’d think we were seeing HHH Vs Daniel Bryan at Mania, yet before that we were led to believe it was HHH vs CM Punk? I think old man Vince is starting to lose it. This is a monumental Wrestlemania, number 30, yet nothing happened last night, and there were changes at the last minute again. WHY?? If indeed they are clueless on why Daniel is getting a bigger ovation than Cena every night, then why change things now? If Punk isn’t getting HHH, and it’s going to be Daniel, then who is “The Best In The World” facing? Sheamus? Come on!!

      • adztheman says:

Bleacher Report is now reporting that Punk has quit WWE and they have pulled his name from various shows…he’s not happy that part time guys–Batista, NAO, et al…are getting prime positions and that guys who work every week are getting bypassed…so a nice big hole in their plans weeks before their biggest event…

      • I guess that “doofus son-in-law” is taking over? LOL The one thing though that doesn’t make sense is the story brings up Punk just found out his Mania plans Monday night. Ummmm hasn’t he insinuated on the shows that he and HHH will face each other?

      • adztheman says:

I’ve read that Undertaker wants to go with Bryan as an opponent this time…and there have varying degrees of Trips versus Bryan or Punk…meanwhile, Hogan isn’t medically cleared to wrestle, and there are rumors that the Ultimate Warrior might…could be that this is a work…could be a shoot…in the end, who knows? Maybe Phil is just fed up…TMZ is reporting that Foley slammed the WWE over the way the Rumble was conducted on Sunday…

      • The problem with Taker Vs Bryan is I just don’t see Daniel realistically have a chance to beat Taker. I just don’t, then again, nobody does. But I can truly see Brock being Taker’s choice, because of what Brock is doing to the other guys. He is beating the crap out of everyone, and I can hear the lights go out, and the bell gongs the day after Elimination Chamber. But who knows, in so many ways, Punk reminds me of Austin, in a good way, yet they live different lifestyles. But who knows, maybe all of this is one giant work? All I do know is Raw sucked big time Monday night, and now is the time to bring the intesity up a notch, or two, or 10 times.

One thing that truly pissed me off Monday night is Kofi Kingston. They booked him to beat the WWE World Champion clean, mind you two weeks ago, only to lose to Del Rio, a guy that lost to Sin Cara just a month ago. Why even have him beat Orton if you aren’t doing anything about it?

      • adztheman says:

Unfortunately Kofi’s career in a nutshell..just sad..guy is a great worker, coming off a tremendous Rumble performance, and his reward is to beat Orton with a clean pin, only to lose to Del Rio..maybe its WM Match that could steal the show…Del Rio is another guy that could use a break…

Orton’s whole title run has been so very boring…he just yells a lot, beats guys with the same moves every week, and does anybody really care? I’ve read that once people figured out that Bryan was not one of the 30 in the Rumble, the roof came off the place, and the boos rained down for the final minutes of the match…

At least Punk and Taker and Triple H always tried to add new moves to their arsenal on a regular basis..don’t see that much anymore…

      • The thing that bothers me the most about Orton is he whines too much. Dude was an ass-kicker, always was, but now he is just an ordinary, boring cowardly heel. Let’s see some punts, at least. His theme music says it all, he hears voices in his head, so act like it.

Yeah, the boos were something else. I had never seen a Rumble that had such a dissatisfied ending, nothing against Batista. I like him, but all of this is on Vince and his decisions.
