WWE Extreme Rules 5/4/14

We are 15 minutes away from going Extreme. Tonight, we will see John Cena face Bray Wyatt, inside a steel cage. We will also see for the first time ever, Evolution Vs The Shield. And in an Extreme Rules match, Daniel Bryan puts his WWE World Title on the line against Kane.

The pre-show starts at 7:30. Keep checking here throughout the night.

We are live in New Jersey at the IZod Center. Josh Matthews welcomes us to the show, with Booker T, Sheamus, and Alex Riley are a part of our panel.

Our pre-show match is a WeeLC Match with Hornswoggle Vs El Torito.

Also tonight, Daniel Bryan faces Kane in an Extreme Rules match for the WWE World Title.

We see what happened last week on Raw, when Kane tried to grab Brie and put her underneath the ring.

Can Daniel Bryan survive tonight against Kane?

Booker T advises to keep Brie home, so Daniel can stay focused in his title match.

El Torito is getting ready for his big match, as is Hornswoggle.

Also tonight, John Cena Vs Bray Wyatt, inside a steel cage. We see footage of The Wyatts Vs Cena this past Monday night.

CM Punk chants are in the house.

A-Ry brings up that Cena must win tonight, because the C-Nation are starting to follow Bray Wyatt.

El Torito Vs Hornswoggle in a WeeLC match.

Now we have 3 little people doing commentary for this match, and a little guy doing the ring announcing.

Where is Lilian?

El Torito wins the match with a plancha right on the table. For what it was, the match was entertaining. We had all 7 men bump the hell for each other, going through tables, ladders, and even smashed some chairs. We also had a little announce table spot, where it broke better than the WWE Announce Table.

Byron Saxson is with Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger.

3 slices of life in tonight’s match. The first slice is RVD, who goes with the flow for everything. The second slice is Paul Heyman and Cesaro, who are two pieces of scum. The third slice is Swagger, who will prevail and when he wins, they leave New Jersey as fast as he can.

We The People.

PPV rundown for tonight’s card.

Evolution Vs The Shield preview.

WWE Extreme Rules starts, now.

Michael Cole, JBL, and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show.

Triple Threat Elimination Match kicks things off, or as we used to call it back in the day….Three-Way Dance. RVD Vs Cesaro Vs Jack Swagger kicks things off, now.

Swagger has been eliminated with a Five Star Frogsplash, RVD pinning Swagger.

Cesaro wins the match with a Neutralizer on top of a trash can, after a failed Five Star Frogsplash by RVD.

I still hate his new music.

Daniel Bryan is being tended to, when Stephanie McMahon interrupts. She is afraid for him, because she doesn’t even know what Kane will do to him. She offers him to officially surrender the WWE World Championship.

Daniel orders to get out of his face. He will walk into this match as WWE World Champion, and somehow, he will walk out the same way.

She disagrees, in fact he will out as Kane’s bitch.

We are all BOlievers.

Our next match is the 2-on-1 Handicap match. Alexander Rusev Vs R-Truth and Xavier Woods.

“The Ravishing Russian” Lana introduces Rusev.

Rusev dominates Truth, puts Xavier out of commission, popping him through a steel post on the ring, and makes Truth tap out to the Accolade.

Rusev attacked Xavier again. Goodnight.

WWE honors the special Olympic athletes.

Renee Young is with Evolution.

HHH brings up The Shield thinks their egos will be their downfall. But we are looking at 31 World Championships combined between the three of them, so yeah they have egos.

Are they well deserved? You bet your ass.

Orton brings up Hunter said you either adapt or parish. The Shield will perish, and you can believe that.

Bad News Barrett Vs Big E. for the Intercontinental Title is up now.

I smell a title change.

Barrett wins the match, and the title with a Bull Hammer. No matter what Big E did, the crowd booed him, so they clearly wanted Barrett to win.

Good win for him, and I hope he is on his way to a big World Title push, down the road.

The Adam Rose Experience begins tomorrow night on Raw.

The Shield Vs Evolution is now.

Hell of a match here that saw The Shield win with Reigns spearing Batsita, and pinning him. The other four men? Oh they took it all the way through the crowd, and through the back. It ended with Ambrose falling on the stairs, HHH and Orton stalked him, but Rollins met them with a flying plancha off the top of the railing.

Incredible match, and we are just getting started.

Steel cage match is next. John Cena Vs Bray Wyatt.

Bray Wyatt wins the match by escaping the cage, after a kid, probably a C-Nation member came out to sing “He’s got the whole world in his hands” to Cena, when John had a chance to walk out of the cage. He had all three members of The Wyatt Family in the cage, but a C-Nation member turned on Cena, and Bray hit Sister Abigail, and walked away.

The match had a weird storyline, because John spent the whole match trying to escape the cage, but with Harper and Rowan on the outside, wouldn’t the game plan be to pin Bray? But a great ending to the match, and Bray picks up an important win.

The Extreme Rules panel are discussing what we just saw.

Our Extreme Rules pre-show match saw El Torito beat Hornswoggle, in a WeeLC match.

Divas Title match, Paige Vs Tamina Snuka is up now.

Paige wins the match with a Scorpion Cross Lock, making Tamina tap out. These two women worked hard, but WWE put it on the wrong spot of the card, in between the two main events.

We cut to The Wyatts, and see the little boy’s name is “Little Johnny”. Bray has the sheep mask, and now the boy can do what he was always intended to do….follow the message.

Our main event, WWE World Title match, Kane Vs Daniel Bryan.

Daniel wins the match with a kick to the face, pinning Kane. We had a flaming table, with Daniel pushing Kane through the table. We also had a forklift involved, with Daniel performing a leaping headbutt off the forklift.

After the match, Daniel celebrates with the titles, and Kane gets up, pyros go off, and the show ends here.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

The three big matches delivered the way it was supposed to. The best match, of course was Evolution Vs The Shield. I have a feeling that Kane Vs Daniel will continue, although, why? Daniel already beat him. But we will see.

Bray picked up the big win, as did Bad News Barrett. Like I said though, it’s time to give him the big title push, when he loses the IC Title.

I still hate Cesaro’s new music.

What were your thoughts on the show? Send them to me, and I will talk to you tomorrow evening for Raw.

So what to do now with Big E, when it was obvious to anyone with a functioning brain cell that Bad News was going to win the thing?

Why not have a Black Power Faction with Big E, R Truth and the other guy, and let them turn heel?

Barrett needs to stay healthy…essential to any title runs…

I love the King of Swing’s new music…

Interesting how the Wyatts are becoming fan favorites..or at least favorites of people who enjoy the gimmick, as I do…just not sure where they go with Cena…he’s not in the title picture, and while this has been an interesting program, what does he do after it ends?

  2. The sad thing is they didn’t do anything with Big E. after he won the title. If they want to bring up the IC Title a bit more, how about showcase the champion? LOL Maybe they will do that with Barrett, but I doubt it.

I don’t like Cesaro’s music, it reminds me too much of Perry Saturn when he was in WCW with the sirens. I loved his Real American theme, but I guess Swagger keeps that.

As far as Cena goes, now is the time to switch and turn him heel. His child fans turned on him, his Make-A-Wish fan club turned on him, for everything he had done for them all? It worked for Hogan, and I know it could add at least 5-7 more years for Cena if he turns heel.

In life, you either adapt, or perish….LOL

I really can’t see them ever turning Cena heel…he makes them too much merch $, the whole Make-A-Wish thing works against it…If you listen to Jim Ross’ podcast, he had an interesting idea..put the title on him and send him up against Undertaker, who would then win the title and retire…that all went to the delete button when the Streak ended…

Big E was boring…guy has no real mic skills…he’s a shorter Bobby Lashley…now Barrett has a real shot at becoming part of the larger picture..meanwhile Bootista is turning down a match vesus Daniel Bryan…what a tool..turn down a PPV bonus?

Meanwhile, if Jack Tunney were still around, Ambrose would not have the US title, since the rule as I remember was that a title needed to be defended every 30 days…and that rarely happens with that belt..wondering if creative forgot about it…

      I forgot all about Saturn’s ring music…

      • But if Cena turns heel, think of the money he could make WWE, with FRESH new matches. I mean, why do this whole Bray Wyatt thing if all he is going to do is go back to making jokes, and goofy smiles? How about having Cena beat Daniel at Summerslam, revenging the loss he had last year at Summerslam, and Cena turn heel. Then our Wrestlemania 31 main event is Cena Vs the returning CM Punk, who was a surprise Royal Rumble entrant, and winning the Rumble. Then, we have a face Punk Vs a heel Cena. Or, if Punk still won’t come back, then let’s have a Cena Vs a Roman Reigns main eventing Wrestlemania? Again, think of the money he could make, and keep him fresh for the next 5-7 years. He can still do the MAW, because Hogan continued doing it when he was a heel.

        I miss Jack Tunney…LOL

I do like Big E., but he does need a mouthpiece, just like Bobby Lashley always needed. How about Lana helping out?

      • adztheman says:

I see your point, cause you know we’re going to get Cena/Randy at some point, cause of course people want to see that…I think they might have Cena suffer a nervous breakdown and maybe that sets the stage for it..
A Cena heel turn, if done right, could generate media buzz as well, and get subscription numbers up for the WWE Network…
Let’s get the Bella sisters in on this too, since Bree is in the ring now doing ”YES” chants with her new husband..(interesting to think how the WWE is all over this, when it took them years to admit that Triple H and Stephanie were indeed husband and wife..)

Does Cena want to do 5 or 7 more years of this, into his 40s? Or does he want to walk away quietly, go into movies and become the New England version of the Rock?

      • I am just saying 5-7 years, if Cena wants that. I do see him start to wind down a bit, and this is why he is doing this program with Bray. But think of the buzz, and it would be something different. Last season, when Cena faced Rock, he was doing some great “heelish” promos. talking about how great he is. Then, after he won the title, we see Ryback turn heel for no reason, other than to bow down to Cena…LOL I have to think WWE wants Cena to turn heel, and hopefully now that Daniel is in this position as the number one face, he can swtich things up. Even if it’s just for a few years, it would be special.

      • adztheman says:

It would have to be something monumental as Hogan’s turn was, since I saw the replay of the PPV that it was a part of…cause I had to see it…
I think it has to be some sort of effort to get people to subscribe to the WWE Network,…as the only place where you can see it, and get continuing coverage…..cynical of me, but I think that Vince and Steph and company would do that…
I love the Wyatts…this is a great gimmick, as was and is the Shield…we’re getting six guys that can do various things, all in their prime…
Wondering when we get the Wyatt Shirt…you notice a lot of people with the Sheep masks, and the new Bryan YES Foam things…
