WWE FastLane 2/22/1

Tonight, the REAL Road to Wrestlemania will begin, because we will see who truly faces “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Title.  Daniel Bryan will face Roman Reigns, with the winner facing Brock at the big event.

The pre-show begins in 30 minutes, so join me tonight as I will keep you updated, and we find out together.

Renee Young welcomes us to the Pre-Show.  She is joined by Booker T, Corey Graves, and Byron Saxton.

Tonight, Roman Reigns Vs Daniel Bryan.  Winner faces Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania.

Also tonight, John Cena Vs Rusev, for the United States Championship.

Can John Cena get the job done tonight?

Corey is going with Cena.  Byron is going with Rusev.  He has beaten 6 former World Champions.  Booker T says it won’t be easy for Cena.  Rusev is unstoppable.

Corey is going with Roman Reigns tonight.  Booker is going with D-Bry.  Byron is going with Reigns.

Tonight, on the FastLane Kick-Off show, Miz TV with Miz’s guest being Paul Heyman.

Tom Phillips is in the Social Media Lounge, and he will have an exclusive interview with the Tag Team Champions, The Uso’s.

Next, we get a HHH and Sting preview.

Later tonight, Sting and HHH will have a Face-To-Face, and we get the video of it.

What do we expect, tonight?  Nobody knows.

For whatever reason, there is now publicity over Seth Rollins’ comment this past Monday night, with saying he can take over the host of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.  Jon has his comments.

I will say this, Jon knows the product, which is very good.

Footage from this past Thursday night on Smackdown, with Rowan, Ziggler, and Ryback bonding together against The Authority.

Eden Stiles is backstage with Ziggler, Ryback, and Rowan.

They have been fired, and re-hired.  Tonight, they face The Authority.  What would a win mean?

Ziggler said it would mean everything.  The Authority tries to tell us what’s best for business, but tonight they have a chance to shut them up.

Ryback said what’s best for business is all 3 men show off, show up, and take out The Authority.

Rowan brings up what is best is for The Authority to be expunged.

Can The Authority even lose, when they do lose?

Booker T brings up they still work for The Authority.  Do they want to get fired again?

Tonight, Miz TV with Paul Heyman being Miz’s guest.

We are in Memphis, Tennessee.  Renee Young interviewed Dean Ambrose, earlier tonight.

The Intercontinental Championship is very important for Dean.  It needs to be a stepping stone to the World Heavyweight Title, but it’s not.  This is about proving to the world he can do it.  He will fight Bad News Barrett in a parking lot of a Denny’s for the IC Title, now.

Dean believes the guy makes the championship and there hasn’t been a guy who could do that in a long time, but he is the guy.  Dean will show that, tonight.

World Tag Team Title preview is on now.

Also tonight, Divas Title is on the line.  Paige Vs Nikki Bella.

Earlier today, Byron interviewed The Bella Twins.

Nikki is confident in her chances, tonight.

Corey brings up Paige won’t be intimidated by them, she is already a 2-time Divas Champion, and she hasn’t been on the roster for a full year yet.

Next, Cena Vs Rusev preview.

Tom Phillips is now with The Uso’s.

They are truly excited to see their father, Rikishi being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Another highlight moment of them was The Uso’s dancing with their father.

What was the biggest challenge of the two growing up.  Sharing everything, and butting heads.

The Uso’s Vs Cesaro and Kidd, tonight.

Earlier today, Eva Marie and Cameron were a part of the Oscars pre-show.

Miz TV with Paul Heyman, is next.

Sheamus is returning to WWE.

Michael Cole, JBL, and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show.

Miz TV, with Miz and Damien Mizdow is next.

Miz orders Mizdow to sit in the corner.  Miz tells us he had a chance to be at the Oscars tonight, but chose to be here instead.  Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is filling in.

Miz brings out Paul Heyman.

Miz asks Heyman is Brock Lesnar will be here tonight, at WWE FastLane.

Ladies and gentlemen, for the record his name is Paul Heyman.  And his undisputed WWE World Heavyweight Champion, his client “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar is not here tonight.

The Miz reminds Heyman he has won in the main event at Wrestlemania as WWE Champion, so he wants to know who Brock would prefer to face at Mania.  Daniel Bryan, a man who is as big as Brock’s one leg, but he did defeat HHH at last year’s Wrestlemania.  Then defeat Randy Orton and Batista, or Roman Reigns.

Heyman said Brock is not concerned, but Heyman doesn’t like how Mizdow is looking at him.

Miz orders Mizdow to turn around and face the turnbuckle.

Mizdow does that.

Now, Heyman is discussing Reigns.  He knows about Roman’s heritage, even more about it when Roman being alive.  But his fate will be the same as Daniel’s, if he wins tonight.  Lesnar will still win at Wrestlemania.

The two shake hands, and the segment ends.

Brian Vs Reigns video is showing.

FastLane is next.

We are live in Memphis, Tennessee.  Michael Cole, Jerry “The King” Lawler, and JBL all welcome us to the show.

6-man tag match kicks things off.  Ziggler, Ryback, and Rowan Vs Rollins, Big Show, and Kane kicks off the show.

The Authority win the match when Big Show knocked out Ziggler, when the referee was trying to get Rollins out of the ring, and Kane pinned him.

Not the kind of ending I wanted to see, but then again, WWE will never push Ziggler like they should.

Rollins hits another Curb Stomp on Ziggler, and now they are taking care of Ryback.

Randy Orton comes back, and takes care of The Authority with a RKO on J & J Security, along with Kane.  Seth Rollins is leaving this entire building, as Orton is back in a vengeance.

Wrestlemania is 35 days away.

Stardust Vs Goldust is up now.

Dusty Rhodes is with Goldust in the locker room.  He never thought these two would face each other.  So do what you have to do, but don’t hurt him.  Because at the end of all this, he loves both men.  Goldust appreciates everything Dusty has done.  But tonight, he isn’t facing Cody, he is facing Stardust.  Tonight, he isn’t leaving that ring until he brings back Cody.

Dusty reminds him, no matter what happens, he loves both men.

Stardust Vs Goldust, now.

Goldust wins the match with a rollup.  Stardust is a bit confused, it seemed like the ref sort of messed up here, because the third count was not as effective as the others.  Stardust walked away from Goldust.

Once again, we see footage this week with John Stewart and Seth Rollins.

I have no clue why, but we get this again.  Does this mean it’s Rollins Vs Stewart at Wrestlemania?

We get backstage again, Dusty and Dustin are talking.  Cody attacks Dustin now.  Stardust tells his father he killed Cody, when he sent Goldust with him.  Stardust is not living in Dusty’s shadow anymore.  Dusty is living in Stardust’s shadow.

Stardust kicks Dustin again, and Dusty wants some help.

World Tag Team Title match is up now.  The Uso’s Vs Cesaro and Kidd.

Tyson and Cesaro win the match when Tyson pins Jey Uso, after Cesaro took out Jimmy Uso.

A good match here, Tyson and Cesaro are new Tag Team champions.

Now comes the fact-to-face moment between HHH and Sting.

Behold the King….The King of Kings.

On your knees, punk.

HHH makes his appearance.

Last week on Raw, HHH was confronted by Ric Flair, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.  He pushed Ric Flair.  He will apologize to Flair, but not apologize for what he said.

He stands here, not as the boss of WWE, he stands here as The Game….as The King of Kings.  And he stands here to wait on Sting.

Here comes Sting.

Let’s get down to this, as HHH says.  He knows why Sting is here.  He’s not mad at him, and in fact he feels sorry for him.

Sting was a lonely soldier to WCW.  He was WCW.  And when the time came, he held his head up, and went when the ship went down.  He respects that.  And the truth is, HHH was partly responsible for that.  His legacy is a part of why Sting’s company went down.  Which is why Sting made sure he and his wife went down at Survivor Series.  Without them, WWE would go down.  And if that happens, Sting would fail, again.

So how about HHH gives Sting’s legacy back, by walking away.  He assures Sting’s legacy will live forever, through WWE Network, through DVd’s, through merchandise.

He would assure Sting’s legacy would be bigger now in 2015 than it ever was.  And HHH can assure Sting would get to the Hall of Fame someday.

Or, as HHH takes off his jacket, they can do it the other way.  Sting continues to look at HHH the way he is, and he beats him down until Sting is carried away.  And they take his legacy away.

And by the look on Sting’s face, he already made his mind up.  It’s funny, because Ric Flair said….

HHH and Sting fight each other, with HHH knocking Sting down.

It’s sledge-hammer time.

And Sting has his trusty bat.

Oh, I am loving this.

HHH drops the sledge-hammer.

Sting points to Wrestlemania.

Oh shit, this is awesome.

Sting walks away, HHH tries to attack him, but Sting has an answer with the bat.

Now Scorpion Death Drop.

Business has just picked up.

Road to Wrestlemania has finally begun.

Daniel Bryan is warming up for his match tonight.

What we just saw was awesome.  WWE Network is approaching one year anniversary.

Earlier tonight, Paul Heyman was a guest of Miz TV.

Divas Title is up now, Paige Vs Nikki Bella.

Nikki wins the match with holding some tights.  So we have the Bella Twins again call Paige a loser.

How is a 2-time Divas Champion a loser, is beyond me though.

Eva Marie and Cameron are at the Oscars tonight.  They might as well since neither woman wrestles much.

Breaking news at WWE FastLane, HHH Vs Sting is official for Wrestlemania 31.

Dean Ambrose Vs Bad News Barrett for the IC Title is up now.

Rudy Charles called for the bell when Ambrose wouldn’t stop at the 5 count.  So Barrett keeps his IC Title, and wins by DQ.

Ambrose hits Dirty Deeds, and takes Wade’s IC Title.

Roman Reigns is warming up for his match tonight.

The lights go out, and we see droids head to ringside.

Could it be?

The gongs sound off, smoke hits around ringside.

We see a casket, with 2 people rolling it out to ringside.

The casket opens up, and it’s Bray Wyatt.

There is a wicked feeling in the air tonight.  Can you feel it?  Bray will never forget the first time he saw him.

He made Bray tremble, he was so cold.  Behind him, there was nothing but darkness.  And he feared him.  But now, he has become like everyone else.  Weak and broken.  He has now become just like everyone else, a mere mortal.  And now, his soul is lost.  Stunk in limbo, between us and the super natural.  It’s time to go home, and Bray’s mission has become clear.

He knows he can hear him, and he knows he is listening.  Bray doesn’t fear him anymore.  Bray Wyatt is the new fear.  And at Wrestlemania, he will claim the new soul of The Undertaker.

The FastLane panel join us now.

Next, the United States Championship is on the line.  John Cena Vs Rusev.

Rusev wins the match when Cena would not submit to The Accolade.  Lana comes to the ring, to distract Charles Robinson and Rusev kicked Cena in the balls, then kicked him in the head, slapped The Accolade on again.  This time, Cena passed out.

The best ending to this match that could have happened.  It protects both men, and more importantly, Rusev picks up the win.

Officials are checking on Cena, as he slowly gets back up.

Cena shakes off the officials help and is walking under his own power.  In disbelief over what just happened.

35 days away from Wrestlemania.

WWE FastLane Kick-off panel joins us now too.  3 things we know for sure.  1.  Randy Orton returned to WWE.  2.  Sting will face HHH at Wrestlemania.  3.  Rusev defeated Cena tonight.

Our main event, Daniel Bryan Vs Roman Reigns.  The winner faces Brock Lesnar, at Wrestlemania is now.

Reigns wins the match with a wicked spear after Bryan tried a running kick.

A very surprising ending here, because I thought for sure they were going with a Triple Threat match for Wrestlemania.  I guess not.

A good match here, with an exciting ending.

Daniel makes this clear after the match.  Reigns BETTER….BETTER kick Brock Lesnar’s ass, and shook his hand.

I loved that ending there.

The main event for Wrestlemania is set.  Brock Lesnar Vs Roman Reigns.  That’s a money match, can Reigns capitalize?

Will The Undertaker answer Bray Wyatt’s challenge?  And also confirmed, for Wrestlemania 31.  Sting Vs HHH, one on one.

The show ends here, Wrestlemania is 35 days away.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

The true meaning of this PPV tonight was to set the stage for Wrestlemania.  And they did that.  Let’s face it, Sting and HHH made this show, with that segment alone.  Bray Wyatt did his part, challenging The Undertaker, making it crystal clear he wants Taker at Mania, even daring him to answer the challenge.  Rusev made Cena pass out, and defeated him.  And the main event is clear, it will be Lesnar Vs Reigns, at Wrestlemania.

Now, the challenge to WWE is to make the next 5 weeks compelling TV.  There is no excuse, NONE, but to make every segment, every show entertaining, and feel important.  This includes Smackdown too, which since they moved to Thursday nights have been underwhelming.

The Road to Wrestlemania has truly begun now.  What were your thoughts on the show?  Send them to me here.
