WWE Draft Update

Not much to update, except this shocking announcement, according to WWE.com.

There is an announcer change, and it goes like this.

Raw Announce Team:

Michael Cole

Byron Saxton

Corey Graves

Smackdown Announce Team:

Mauro Ranallo

Davis Otunga

Kevin’s Thoughts:

Let me also say Booker T and Jerry “The King” Lawler will be adding their parts to the Pre-shows, and post-shows.  I think it was a good move.  Jerry is being downsized, and it’s probably time.  I will always be a fan of King’s, but lately it just sounded like he cared less and less.  And to make this feel like a “new era”, you need some new people in the broadcast movement.

Smackdown looks to shine with the always trustworthy Mauro Ranallo, David Otunga, who was doing a very good job on The Main Event, and JBL.

Raw gets Corey Graves, who is excellent in his role, and it’s his turn to shine.  But now it’s time to tweak Byron a bit.  He just sounds too much like Cole, and he needs his own niche.  Let’s hope they allow him too, because he too was a former NXT performer.  They need to allow his expertise to shine a bit more.

And of course, Heath Slater is still a free agent.  But one name that hasn’t been mentioned, and he wasn’t drafted was The Undertaker.

Whether you liked it or not last night, this gives both shows fresh looks to them, and now comes the buildup of the respected shows.

Send me your thoughts.

Lawler has only himself to blame…he gave Otunga the opening, and Otunga wasn’t a disaster…plus it adds an African American presence to the lineup, and Lawler can try to pick up Lita, since there are rumors WWE wants to do 2 PPVs a month with the brand split.

Byron bores me…he seems to be the guy that everybody picks on…not sure why he has been assigned that role.

Still waiting for the Jericho ”Drink it in Man” shirt…

The draft was the draft…still watching the show…

Glad to see Bryan back on TV…did I sense a bit of a heel turn by Foley?

    Loved Stephanie’s Raw Dress…

Wondering when Bayley, Austin Aries and others on NXT are going to be taken seriously…I feel sorry for Bailey…I have a feeling she’s going to spend the best part of her career as part of NXT cause they need her to sell tickets as a touring entity.

Still want to find out why the Vaudvillians have been in the doghouse….they don’t even show the enterance video on TV anymore…I like those guys more than Cass and Enzo…I guess eight year olds are still driving programming.

    • Byron has more or less taken Josh Matthews spot, and it’s ashame. Byron can be very good if Vince gave him free reign. He knows these young guys better than anyone else, except Corey Graves. But you’re right about King, and now this gives Otunga something to do too. I’ve never liked The Vaudevillains though, but to me they have fallen into that same Ascension speed trap.I think Bayley will be Sasha’s mystery partner this Sunday. She has history with all four women, who else would it be? Not Nikki, she has no history with Sasha, at all. Right? Right?

At least when Josh Matthews wakes up, Madison Rayne is in the same bed…

I liked the Vaudvillians gimmick, and you’re right, they’ve become jobbers, much as Asension has.

Isn’t Nikki retired? Bree has a bad neck and is trying to get pregnant and stuff…

Going to be interesting Sunday if they flip Roman heel…the reception …wonder who starts the ”you’re a juicer!” chant.

Meanwhile you have Orton versus Brock, who may have botched his MMA career…and if he was juicing, isn’t WWE walking a fine line by promoting him for SummerSlam?

    • Josh is with her? Wow, impressive. Nikki is the one with a hurt neck, Brie retired. And yeah, they need to turn Reigns heel, do a double turn with Seth too. Fans love him, regardless. But I think WWe will go to the line that Brock didn’t fail their tests, if he did though, he would be gone. The real question is will Heyman be there? As of right now, his contract is done in WWE.
