WWE Smackdown Live 8/16/16…Ambrose Vs Ziggler…Miz TV

We are 5 days away from Summerslam, the fine folks of Smackdown will be closing up their Road to Summerslam, with Miz TV.  Miz will have Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler as his guests.  We will also see John Cena Vs Alberto Del Rio.

Smackdown Live is now.

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan have Randy Orton sign the official contract to face Brock Lesnar.

Heath Slater has a bag of fruit, to offer a gift to his two bosses.  He expects a Smackdown contract, because he stood toe to toe with Brock Lesnar.

Daniel and Shane told him they are not interested.  I guess are in a bit of a pickle here then.

Orton has an idea, since he bit into an apple.

We cut right to the music intro.

We are live in Austin, Texas.  Mauro Ranallo, David Otunga, and JBL welcome us to the show.

Miz TV starting the program.

Miz starts to welcome us to the show, but Dean Ambrose interrupts.

We are only a few days away from Summerslam, and Dolph Ziggler interrupts the fun.

Sorry to interrupt, actually, Ziggler isn’t.

Dean isn’t in the mood to talk, the two men go face to face.  Miz interrupts, reminding us this is Miz TV.  He invited them to talk, not fight, but talk.

Dolph Ziggler, who would have thought even 6 months ago, he would compete for the WWE Championship, at Summerslam?

Many people thought, including Miz he would turn out to be a flop.  But Ziggler proved the critics wrong in a career resurgence.  But what happens if he fails?

Ziggler isn’t worried about after Summerslam, he is only worried about this Sunday at Summerslam.

There is the new Dolph Ziggler, the fire, the pizazz, the determination.  Many people think this is the new Dolph Ziggler, but he doesn’t buy it.

Miz gives a OOOOOHHHHH

Shut your mouth, Miz.

What do you want Ziggler to admit, Dean?  That he used the company never pushed him excuse, that he always uses that as an excuse.  Dean was right about everything he said.  But he will be responsible for giving him that extra push he needed to beat Dean.

So let’s say Ziggler is right, where do we go from there?  You think the critics will leave you alone?  They won’t, that is where the real pressure comes, and we know Ziggler doesn’t like pressure.  He just caves in, and makes another crappy movie.  Look at this big chip, it just caves you in, because Ziggler doesn’t like pressure.  But he is going to continue to feel it, because Dean will beat him, and he will prove something to all of us.  He never wanted it bad enough, and Ziggler won’t want it bad enough.

Dean will feel pressure, but he will use everything to put Ziggler away, but it won’t be enough.  There will never be anything big enough to put Ziggler away.  When he is looking for one last move.

BAM!!  Superkick!!

This Sunday, you will realize Ziggler is that damn good.

Tonight, John Cena Vs Alberto Del Rio.  Also tonight, Heath Slater Vs Randy Orton.

But next, it’s a 12-man tag, featuring the Tag Team Division.

During the commercial, The Miz was talking about his opponent for Summerslam, even forgetting his name.  It’s Apollo Crews, and he shows up to let him know who he is.

If you’re keeping score at home, we have The Usos, Hype Bros, and American Alpha taking on The Vaudevillains, The Ascension, and Breezango.

American Alpha pick up the win for their team, with Grand Amplitude.

The Tag Team division has been lit.

Dean Ambrose was Superkicked earlier tonight, and he is not happy.  He faces Erick Rowan, tonight.

But next, Eva Marie makes her Smackdown Live in-ring debut.

It’s all red.

Naomi is Eva’s opponent.

Naomi has a new entrance, complete with glow in the dark, and is now a face.

But the awesome announcer guy is now introducing the glorious Eva Marie.

Eva Marie is unable to compete, due to traffic.

Oh my gosh, this is funny.

Flashback of Hell in a Cell 2015, when it was Cena Vs Del Rio for the United States Championship, and Del Rio won the match.

Del Rio runs into AJ Styles.

Styles reminded Del Rio beat up John Cena at Hell in a Cell 2015.  Del Rio isn’t impressed.

He doesn’t need Styles’ pep talk, and AJ reminds Del Rio he is the main event of Summerslam, and Del Rio isn’t even on the card.

Also tonight, Ambrose Vs Rowan, but it will be Orton Vs Slater, next.

Curt Hawkins is coming back to Smackdown, soon.

Orton Vs Slater is now.

Orton is DQ’d, because he thought Slater was Lesnar.

Does that mean Slater gets a contract?  It doesn’t matter, Orton takes Slater outside.  This won’t end well for Heath.

Draped DDT, off the barricade.

Orton is sending Slater to Suplex City, and mocks Brock.

RKO!!

Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan interrupt things.

Austin, Texas….we’re here.

Heath Slater is getting checked on, hurting all over.  Slater won, and we see Shane and Daniel congratulating him on his victory.  Heath thinks Daniel Bryan is Mick Foley.  He needs a pen, Shane hands him the contract.  Heath believes Shane is Stephanie.

But Shane takes it away.

That is cold.

During the break, Bray crossed paths with Orton.

Rowan Vs Ambrose is now.

A competitive match, but Dirty Deeds always does the trick.

Bray is looking at the sheep mask, and leaves Rowan.  Is this the end of The Wyatt Family?

Tonight, Cena Vs Del Rio.

But next, Carmella and Becky Vs Natalya and Alexa.

Carmella and Becky Lynch Vs Natalya and Alexa Bliss is now.

Carmella and Becky win with the Disarmer, making Nattie tap out.  Eva Marie did show up, so the traffic evaporated.  Naomi countered Eva though, and Becky pulled off the win.

Oh lord, Kalisto is getting beat up by Baron Corbin, again.

This is WWE Summerslam Week, on WWE Network.

Video of Lesnar Vs Orton:  15 Years In The Making is showing, now.

Orton Vs Lesnar, this Sunday.  I can’t wait.

Added to the card this Sunday, 6 women match.  Carmella, Becky, and Naomi Vs Natalya, Alexa, and Eva.

AJ Styles comes to the ring, to watch our main event.  That is next.

WWE NXT Takeover:  Brooklyn II is this Saturday, at 8:00.

Cena Vs Del Rio is now.

Cena picks up the win with Attitude Adjustment, and after the match, AJ hits a Springboard Phenomenal Forearm, and lays out Cena.

AJ is sick and tired of hearing the future goes through John Cena.  At Summerslam, after beating Cena, AJ will be the face that runs this place.  Cena says he has a passion of WWE?  That is great, AJ will make this a prison for Cena.  Because your time is up, my time is now.

He lifts Cena up, but John flips up, and hits an AA on AJ.

Now goes the table, John sets up the ring steps, and puts AJ through the table with another AA.

Cena is still breathing, and we end Smackdown here.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

No matter what happens, John Cena showed us he is still the face who runs this place.  That will never change.  But I am looking forward to seeing Cena vs Styles.

I absolutely loved this show tonight.  They did everything they needed to do to hype Summerslam.  But my favorite segment still was Miz TV, with Ambrose and Ziggler, setting up their Summerslam main event.  I am also becoming a bigger fan of Heath Slater than I was before.  And what else can I say about Eva Marie?  My goodness, that was hilarious, how the awesome announcer guy told us she was stuck in traffic.

We are now set for this weekend.  If you want to check on my other work, please go to ForeverRebuilding.com, and click on Ringside Seats.  I am doing the new piece on Smackdown Vs Raw, where I tell you which show was the best show of the week.  That appears later this week.

I will not be covering Impact Wrestling this week, but look to continue that next week.

I will be on here for Saturday night’s WWE NXT Takeover:  Brooklyn II.  Send me your thoughts.

Daley “The Milkman” Millman is talking in the ring.  He is licensed to compete, but nobody wants to compete.  But he isn’t leaving here until someone comes to the ring and compete.

Who is this guy?

He’s in his tidy whities, and here comes Kane.
