WWE Clash of Champions 9/25/16

Tonight’s piece is dedicated by the memory of Miami Marlins pitcher, Jose Fernandez.  RIP.

Tonight, all of the titles are on the line, and we kick the show off with the Kick-Off show.

Renee Young welcomes us to Lita, Booker T, and Jerry “The King” Lawler.

Tom Phillips joins us at the Social Media Lounge, with Sami Zayn being his guest.

All of the titles will be on the line tonight, and we see footage of United States Title match, with Rusev Vs Roman Reigns.

What will Roman’s mood be in after Rusev cost him a chance for a title shot 2 weeks ago?

Will Rusev get his revenge tonight, after Reigns disrespected Lana?

Tonight’s Kick-Off show match is Nia Jax Vs Alicia Fox.

We also will see Women’s Championship being defended at Clash of Champions with a Triple Threat match.

The new women interviews Sasha Banks.  Payback will punch Charlotte right in the face.  But this isn’t about Bayley, tonight is about “The Boss” and how she will become a 2-time Women’s Champion.

Dana Brooke interrupts, she brings up Sasha needs to think about fear, of being injured by the Women’s Champion, again.

Sasha warns Dana that if she messes with the match tonight, Dana will be on the injured list.

Charlotte Vs Sasha Banks Vs Bayley preview is shown, now.

Who wins this epic match tonight?

Best of 7 Series concludes tonight, Sheamus Vs Cesaro.

Who wins the series tonight?  Sheamus or Cesaro?

We go through all of the matches here, beginning at Summerslam.

We welcome Sheamus to the panel.

Sheamus isn’t feeling pressure, but Cesaro is one of his toughest opponents ever.  Booker tries to instigate matters, saying Sheamus “dropped the ball”.  No doubt Sheamus has to win tonight.  Sheamus has worn that brass ring before, Cesaro has not.  He will win the match.  Nobody tougher than him, stronger than him, and he proves that tonight.

Should the winner of this get a Universal Title opportunity?

For the first time on a Raw PPV, the Cruiserweight Title is on the line, with TJ Perkins Vs The Brian Kendrick.

We see the awesome video from Perkins Vs Gran Metallik, at the CWC finale.

Sami Zayn in the Social media Lounge is next.

Footage from 2 weeks ago at The Highlight Reel.  Sami called out Jericho about being Kevin Owen’s bitch.

Tonight, Jericho Vs Zayn, one on one.

Sami Zayn in the Social Media Lounge.

Sami discusses his highlight match of his career, so far.  Many memories for Sami.  Most recently, beating Kevin Owens at Battleground, but the true highlight hasn’t happened yet, winning the Universal Championship.

Sami wants a piece of the old Jericho.  The Chris Jericho he grew up, looking up to Chris.  But tonight, he will settle for just beating him.

Who wins this match?

Raw Tag Team Championships are on the line, with New Day Vs Gallows and Anderson.

Our first match will be next.  Nia Jax Vs Alicia Fox.

Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and Corey Graves welcome us to their part of the show.

Kick-Off match is up now.  Nia Jax Vs Alicia Fox.

Nia wins with the Samoan Drop.  I loved this match, they did far more for Nia, facing a former Divas Champion than they could with Nia facing jobbers.

WWE Network plug, we will see many of this tonight.

Now comes the video we are all here to see.  Tonight, Kevin Owens Vs Seth Rollins, for the WWE Universal Championship.

Who is “The Man”?  We find out tonight.

Video setting up our main event is being shown.

WWE Clash of Champions begins now.

We are live in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and Corey Graves welcome us to the show.

Raw Tag Team Championship will kick the show off, New Day Vs Gallows and Anderson.

Xavier used Francesca, and nailed Anderson with it.  Kofi and Big E hit Midnight Hour to retain the Tag Titles.

WWE wants New Day to break Demolition’s WWE Tag Team Title reign, it seems.

The Cruiserweight Title match is up now.  TJ Perkins Vs The Brian Kendrick.

Tom Phillips is with TJ Perkins.

He talks about TJ being the underdog in this match.  Perkins admits Kendrick is the veteran here, and this is TJ’s first WWE match.  But confidence is what got him here, and confidence will be what it takes to keep the Cruiserweight Title.

Perkins wins the match with the Knee Bar Submission, making Kendrick tap.

I think this is Cathy Dennis, she wants to know what this moment is like for TJ.

He tries to say something, but Kendrick shakes his hand, only to give TJ a headbutt.

WWE2K17 will be out in 2 weeks.

Tom Phillips is with Cesaro.

Cesaro was down 3-0, but he went back to what Mick Foley had said with we would find out who was the strongest between the two, and Cesaro is here to prove he is the strongest.

Cesaro Vs Sheamus, Best of 7 Series is up now.

While this match is going on, I just got a note from my phone that golfing legend Arnold Palmer has died.  Such a shame to hear 2 deaths today.

The match ends in a no contest as both men beat the hell out of each other.  Sheamus is being taken to the back, when Cesaro hates it to end this way.

We’ll see what happens tomorrow night.

Charlotte calls out Bayley in the locker room, saying she can’t beat her, and she can’t even beat Sasha.

September is Children’s Cancer Awareness Month, and we go tp Conorscure.org, and donate.

Sami Zayn Vs Chris Jericho is now.

Jericho wins the match with a Code Breaker.

Fantastic match here that featured the “Upstart Vs The Veteran”.

We just received the gift of Jericho.  Drink it in, man.

The Universal Champion, Kevin Owens is greeted by Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley.

They are trying to butter up to KO, but he isn’t buying Mick’s appreciation.

Women’s Championship is up now, Triple Threat between Charlotte Vs Bayley Vs Sasha Banks.

Charlotte retains her title with 2 boot shots to both Bayley and Sasha, pinning Bayley.

Charlotte is now 12-0 in title matches in PPVs.  A very impressive record.

The Clash panel crew talks about the show so far, and we see Nia Jax defeated Alicia Fox earlier in the night.

But our next match is for the United States Title.  Rusev Vs Reigns.

Reigns hits a spear, Lana throws the ref out of the ring, and there goes Lana.

SPEAR, match is over.  The NEEEEEEWWWWW United States Champion, Roman Reigns.

WWE No Mercy is on October 9th.

The challenger is walking backstage.  Foley and Steph are here to wish Seth some luck.

Seth isn’t impressed by that.

WWE Hell In A Cell is on October 30th.

Our main event, Seth Rollins Vs Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Title is up now.

Owens won the match with a Pop-up Powerbomb, after a ref bump.  Stephanie sent another ref in, second Pop-Up Powerbomb, with the show ending here.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

A good PPV, from beginning to end.  We saw multiple Pedigrees used by Seth, teasing the eventual match between Seth and HHH.  We will see what happens tomorrow night on Raw.  Send me your thoughts on the show.
