Impact Wrestling 4/24/15….Night of Knockouts

After a 2 week absence, I am back writing about Impact Wrestling.  Tonight, we will see a special theme show….Night of Knockouts.

We will see a Fatal 4-Way to determine the new Number One Contender to the Knockout Title, with Gail Kim Vs Angelina Love Vs Madison Rayne Vs Brooke.  We will also see The Knockout Title on the line, with Taryn Terrell Vs Awesome Kong.  And for the World Heavyweight Title, Kurt Angle Vs Eric Young.

Kurt Angle heads to the ring, and he calls Eric out.

Last week, Kurt said he wanted the “old” Eric Young to wrestle him.  The one who won the World Heavyweight Title, not the “crazy” side of Eric Young the last few months.  Last week, we might have seen a glimpse of Eric, so which one are we going to see?

Eric tells Kurt that people have been calling him crazy his entire life.  But people had been spinning things from him, and saying things.  But last week, Kurt turned his back on Eric, and he didn’t attack him.  Kurt brought out the best side of Eric Young, the “real” Eric Young.  May the best man win tonight.

The two men shook hands

Enter Austin Aries.

Austin told Kurt the “real” Eric Young is the man who turned on his best friend,  Aries tells Kurt that he holds the briefcase, to determine when he gets a World Title shot.  Austin tells Kurt that he will get that shot tonight, facing Kurt one on one.  And he is going to put on a great match with Kurt, but at the end of the night, Aries will leave as the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

Eric is upset, as Austin leaves.

Tonight, Taryn Terrell will face Awesome Kong.  Also someone from BDC will face someone from The Rising, and now we hear from Taryn Terrell.

Taryn tells us she has the biggest challenge in front of her, but she will do whatever it takes to make sure the Knockout Title stays around her waist.

Fatal 4-Way to determine who the Number One Contender to the Knockout Title is up now.

Gail Kim Vs Angelina Love Vs Madison Rayne Vs Brooke.

Brooke wins, pinning Madison in a Facebuster. Brooke pulls off an upset, and will now face the Knockout Champion.

The Rising has a message for the fans, thanking them for standing up to wrestling.

Tonight, it will be Micah, but who will he face from the BDC? Find out next.

Tonight, it will be Kurt Angle Vs Austin Aries.

Eric is being interviewed backstage. EY is not happy about being bumped tonight. It means everything to him.

It’s BDC Vs The Rising, one on one.

MVP sees that the crowd is behind The Rising, and Galloway is right, there is something about stand up wrestling.

It will be Micah Vs Kenny King, who attacked Micah.

Micah wins the match with a Samoan Drop, and here come The BDC with the beat down.

Drew and Eli come out to help, but newest BDC member, Homicide comes out too.

A 4-on-3 attack.

Lo-Ki nails Drew with a lead pipe on the gut to put the stamp of this beat down.

Drew is being helped to the back. Drew tells Lo-Ki he is still standing. Next week is Hardcore Justice. They will have a steel pipe on a pole match.

The Dollhouse vignette is playing, and we will see them in action, now.

It’s going to be Jade Vs Laura Dennis.

Laura Dennis wins by DQ, when Marty ran Brian Stiffler into the ring post. And after Christy Hemme announced Laura won, they attacked Christy and sent her into the steel steps.

They are a bit odd here.

We come back, and see Eric Young backstage, down about the situation. Kurt Angle assures Eric he is the Number One Contender. Eric and Kurt both know Eric is the Number One Contender, history seems to be repeating here. Kurt assures Eric that he will get the next title shot, and Eric doesn’t want to hear this, and he leaves.

Magnus is in the ring.

Magnus appreciates the fans support, and his family appreciates it too. But tonight is not about him, it’s about his fiancée, and simply put one of the greatest woman wrestlers, addressing her future.

Here comes Mickie James.

Mickie wants to thank the fans, she wants to thank Magnus. The last few weeks have been a roller coaster, and she wanted to come back to support Magnus, through his feud with Bram. She has been honored to be in the ring with some of the greatest women wrestlers in her generation. And beating some of them, and when you hold the World Title, it means everything and you were born to do this. But holding Donovan, their son means more to her. And as of tonight, she is going home and will be a Mom. She wants to thank us, and appreciate what they mean to her.

Thank you Mickie chants, and here comes James Storm.

James knows this is a family moment here, but he tells us that people who know the real James Storm knows he loves cold beer, hot women, and fast cars.

And when he looks at Mickie, he knows she would rather wear cowboy boots than high heels. She would rather drink wine in a box than some fancy cup. She is a woman who stands by her man, no matter who she has to stand up to.

So when she stands in the gorilla position, she hears her music and knows the fans are about to chant Mickie. He knows this was a hard decision, but she might regret it.

Magnus chimes in, and says he appreciates what he did for them, but this was a hard decision. James stops him right there, and says he always made easy decisions. Because if a decision is difficult, it shouldn’t be made.

She is one of the greatest wrestlers in the business, not just in wrestling, but singing the country songs.

Mickie has made her decision, and she thinks it’s the right decision.

Storm understands she wants to be a great mother, and anyone who has kids understand that. But James wants to tell Mickie a little secret, these people love Mickie James.

James isn’t asking for her to do a full-time schedule, just asking for her to do it one more time.

The crowd wants one more time.

Mickie agrees to it one more time.

James taps Magnus on the shoulder. Magnus doesn’t look amused.

Tonight, Taryn Terrell Vs Awesome Kong, for the Knockout Title. And Kurt Angle Vs Austin Aries, for the World Title.

During the break, Magnus wants to clarify what Mickie is thinking. She got caught up in the moment. One more match wouldn’t hurt. Davey Richards catches up with Magnus.

He is warning him about Storm, calling him the “devil”.

We come back, and it’s Davey Richards Vs Manik.

Davey wins the match, with what he is calling Cheap Death, basically a kick to the head.

Here come Abyss and Khoya to take out Davey, but here come The Hardys.

EC3 and Tyrus are backstage. Ethan has a big announcement to make, and he wants us to discuss it as #EC32015.

What about #EC32015?

Exactly.

EC3 has the fans in the palm of his hand. Ethan is here to declare himself the next TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

2015 is the year, EC3 is the man. They say that a title makes the man, but he disagrees, because he will make the title.

His qualifications, you might ask?

Ever since his debut in October, of 2013, he has been unpinned, and unsubmlitted. That means for the last 21 months, he has been a gold mine.

He has defeated every single TNA Hall of Famer there is. That includes Bully Ray, Sting, and the current TNA World Champion, Kurt Angle.

There is no candidate better suited for him to take this company to the next level for the next 4, oh hell, 8 years.

EC32015, will be a grassroots campaign, and will start here in Florida.

Watch as unemployment will go down 79%, and Unmotivated Children and Lazy millennial will go down 67%.

EC3 loves this speech too.

These United States will be Carter Country. No longer red, no longer blue. Golden, united by one star, one Hardcore American ICON to lead the charge. He will take this title, charge it as one. He will defend it around the world, he will defend it in Mars, Martians, he is coming for them.

He is Ethan Carter III, the next TNA World Champion. God Bless TNA Wrestling. God Bless EC3.

Here comes Mr. Anderson.

Anderson is not wanted, but Mr. Anderson tells him he has one hell of a future.

Mr. Anderson is the first endorsement for EC3 as World Champion.

But Anderson corrects him, his future is in Washington. He can run with Anthony Weiner.

Anderson tells Carter he waited 11 years to win his first World Title. He broke his body, he broke his bones, and that’s how you win championships.

Ethan wants to show Anderson what a World Champion looks like, and the two men fight, with Anderson getting the upper hand.

Taryn Terrell video is playing now.

Kong Vs Terrell, next.

Taryn wants this to be a No DQ match, and she gets that wish.

The Dollhouse aided Taryn, and we saw a Triple Power Bomb through a table.

Taryn tells us people didn’t think she could beat Kong, but she proved us wrong, and anyone who messed with her, has to deal with her new friends.

This is their house….The Dollhouse.

Austin Aries is the measuring stick, and to prove it, he has to beat Kurt Angle one on one. No games, no BS. Time to cash this in, and become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

He runs into Eric Young, Aries tells him he will give EY the first shot when he beats Kurt.

EY walks away.

Josh Matthews reviews what we just saw. The Dollhouse being aligned with Taryn Terrell.

Backstage, Magnus asks some TV people if they can follow Mickie, and off they go.

Our main event, Kurt Angle Vs Austin Aries for the TNA World Title is up now.

The match never happens, when Eric Young attacks Aries and nails a Piledriver on the floor.

Eric hits another Piledriver on the steel steps, and we see Kurt Angle coming over, but Eric attacks Kurt too. He takes the anklebrace off Kurt and nails a chair on the ankle. Figure Four time.

Next Friday, Hardcore Justice returns. The Hardys and Davey Richards Vs The Revolution in a 6-man streetfight. Also, Drew Galloway Vs Lo-Ki in a Steel Pipe on a Pole match.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

Alot has happened since I last watched Impact Wrestling. The Hardys are the new Tag Team Champions, The Dollhouse made their debut, EY showed us his “real” side, and “crazy” side all in the same episode. And Taz is gone from TNA. It’s now Josh Matthews. He needs someone to work with, but he did a decent job. But still needs a color man. Thank you Taz for everything you had done for TNA.

An interesting show here, we saw women being featured on most of the night here. The Dollhouse is with Taryn Terrell, and what will Kong’s response be?

I even like the fact Angle Vs Aries did not happen, and he still has his briefcase.

James Storm proved what kind of great performer he is. One moment, he has the crowd at the palm of his hand, then within moments, he becomes a cult leader again. I’d like to see where this is going.

Also, May 8th show, will be live. We should see what Slammiversary will look like.

But my hero of the night belongs to EC3. I would vote for him, and know he would represent TNA well for the next 8 years. Remember #EC32015.
