Impact Wrestling 1/19/12…Who’s The Number One Contender?

We see footage of what took place last week on Impact, when Bully Ray interfered in the match against Jeff Hardy.  So where do we go from here?  Let’s tune in and find out.

Here comes the brand new Number One Contender, “Cowboy” James Storm.

It feels good to be back in the Impact Zone, as the Number One Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship.  Kurt Angle, you are the best Wrestler in the world, but on one night, James Storm was just a little bit better, and now it’s time for Against All Odds.  Bobby Roode, you will face James man on man, and eye to eye, because he is about to kick your ass.  And sorry about your damn….

Here comes “The Charismatic Enigma”, Jeff Hardy.

Hardy said he got screwed at the PPV, he got screwed last week, and sorry James, but you won’t get a title shot until he gets a fair chance.

James said he remembers just a few months ago that he was screwed out of the World Heavyweight Title, and as much screwing as Bobby has been doing, he sure has alot of child support to pay for.

Here comes Bobby Roode.

According to Bobby that even though James won his match last week against Kurt, since his match with Jeff was a no contest, then his stipulation is null and void.  But Jeff has tried a few times, and has failed both times, so no title match for him either.

But here comes Sting.

Sting said that Bobby found a loophole in the contract last week, instead of getting DQ’d, he had Bully Ray DQ Hardy for him, so he could keep his title.  But we will fix that, tonight we will have a Number One Contenders match with who?  Hmmm…let’s see, how about Jeff Hardy, and “Cowboy” James Storm?  Tah-Tah, for now.

Still to come, Madison Rayne Vs Mickie James, inside a steel cage.

When we come back, Angelina Love is disgusted over Eric Young touching her last week, so she issues a challenge against him tonight, and keep your “boyfriend” ODB out of ringside.

Our first match is Gunner taking on AJ Styles.

Gunner defeated AJ with a DDT, after Daniels forced Kazarian to trip AJ on the ropes, Gunner tried to give AJ a Piledriver on the outside floor, but AJ caught him in time to avoid the bump.

Magnus is ready for his match with Crimson.  Crimson approaches Magnus, and asks him if he’s ready, because they could do it now.  They are facing each other tonight.

Bully Ray is backstage with Sting, telling him he needs a “favah” and that “favah” is to get a World Heavyweight Title shot, since he has been “undefeated” and all.  Sting says no, but he needs to make an appointment next time he wants to speak with him.

Crimson Vs Magnus is up now.

Crimson defeated Magnus with a Red Sky, and here comes Joe to beat him down.  Morgan comes in for the save, but the Tag Team challengers lay out the champs, and send a message.

Earlier today, Eric Young doesn’t want to fight a woman, he wants to join Bellator Fighting Group, ODB comes over and encourages him to fight her.  All of the boys in the back would think bad if he backs down from a challenge, more hi-jinks involved.

Number One Contender match for the World Heavyweight Title….James Storm Vs Jeff Hardy is tonight.

Last Thursday, Bischoff Vs Bischoff.

Who is Garrett’s new trainer?  Video footage of Garrett training is being shown.

He can’t wait to get back to the Impact Zone, and he can’t wait to see Dad’s face on who is training him.  He’ll see us soon.

Knockout video now showcasing Mickie James Vs Madison Rayne.

Madison is freaking out, with Gail saying she has her back, everything will be fine, just go out there and do what you do best.  Their cage match is up next.

Mickie James Vs Madison Rayne, inside a steel cage match is up now, and Earl Hebner kicked Gail Kim out of ringside.

Mickie James defeated Madison Rayne with her DDT.

A-Double, Austin Aries is headed to the ring next, with having something to say, and we will enjoy it, because he is A-Double….Austin Aries.

Mickie James is celebrating her win with Tara and Velvet Sky, now she wants the Knockout Title from Gail Kim, despite having a hurt knee.

Jeff Hardy is preparing to go against James Storm, and hopefully faces Bobby Roode for the title.

Austin Aries is the greatest man alive, and he’ll tell you that.  He had a big win at Genesis, over three different men.  He is ready to celebrate.

Here comes the X-Division Champion, A-Double….Austin Aries.  He has done this before, but he’ll say it again, there is nobody in the X-Division that is in his league.

The crowd chants you suck, and he replies if he sucks so much, then why does he still hold the X-Division Title.

Now the crowd chants for him, and he says he doesn’t need the chants, he knows how great he is.  Nobody in the back can do what he can do, and perhaps it’s time that he goes into his yacht, and search for competition.

Enter Alex Shelley.

Alex missed us, and we return the favor.  He didn’t miss Austin so much though.  A year ago, Alex separated his shoulder, he was out for four months, and the day he comes back, his Motor City Machinegun tag team partner, Chris Sabin blew out his MCL.  So we were deprived of no Guns until 2012.  But at the end of the day, since Alex was a little kid, all he has thought about is Wrestling….Wrestling…Wrestling…Punk Rock….Wrestling….Wrestling….Wrestling….Video Games…Wrestling, etc.

Alex thought he’d sit out until his partner, Chris Sabin can heal and come back, because he knows we all need the Guns back, especially in the tag team division.  Amen to that, but as far as he is concerned, Austin can’t beat the piss out of a urine-soaked sponge.

Austin isn’t impressed, aren’t there any men in the back, challenging him for the title?

Sabin gave Alex his blessing to go after the X-Division Title, but Austin said it’s too bad Chris isn’t here, because he has been riding on his coattails for years.

If Alex is no threat, then he shouldn’t have any issue putting the title up against him?

Austin said you earn a title match, just like everyone else.  Alex goes to the back, pick one guy, if he beats him, he will defend the title against Alex.

Alex wants Austin to choose the opponent, then he will go after Austin’s title at Against All Odds.

Excellent promo.

ODB is in the back, and she wants him to rip out Angelina’s stuff….Bam!!!  But Winter attacks ODB from behind, and the fight is on.

Winter chokes out ODB, and when we come back, Angelina Love Vs Eric Young.  Oh boy.

After some comedy, and EY not touching Angelina, Angelina is DQ’d for nailing Eric down under.  Winter and Angelina stomp EY, but here comes ODB to the rescue.

And then they kiss.

And Eric Young gives us the Ric Flair strut, which is funny.

James Storm is outside with Jasin Hervey, it’s his time now.  He helped build the company from the ground floor up, it’s his time to be the man.  Hell yeah.

Jeff Hardy Vs “Cowboy” James Storm is up, next.

And of course, this match ends in a…you guessed it….a no contest.

Bully Ray laid out the ref, and both men.  Sting tries to help out, but Bully Ray lays him out too, and Bobby Roode came into the ring to announce neither man is a Number One Contender, and this is how the show ends.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

Another huge main event, ending the same way, with no winner.  I see a disturbing trend in Wrestling, not just in TNA, but WWE too, and that is no contests.  They think it sells, but it does absolutely nothing for anyone involved.  James Storm Vs Bobby Roode is a money feud, that can sell, and will be used more than likely at Lockdown.  Bobby Roode Vs Jeff Hardy was a good match, but the ending killed any momentum they had.  So why not add Bully Ray to the mix?  Winner takes all, and takes home the gold.  So let’s build to that, instead of giving us crappy endings?

I also have the exception to how they brought up Impact being in England.  Why not put the energy into making the announcement into a video, and bring it up huge, rather than Mike Tenay give us a voiceover and using that as information?

Some things I did like….

Nice to see Alex Shelley back in action, and I am looking forward to his match next week, and even into Against All Odds.

Mickie James Vs Madison Rayne was a fun and brutal cage match between the two ladies, and the celebration backstage made it more enjoyable.

Gunner Vs AJ, I know Gunner used a cheap finish here, but at least he pinned AJ, and now we will find out what is going on with Christopher Daniels and Kazarian.

Things I did Not Like:

Angelina Lovs Vs Eric Young.  I am not a fan of a man putting his arms and wrestle a woman.  Although in the end, ODB was able to get what she wanted, and that’s to slap a kiss on his face.  Bam!!

No Contest matches, this is a no-brainer.  If you are heavily invested in these matches, then give the fans want they want, a final outcome, at the lease something they can build on.

Overall, a mixed show with no end in sight, heading into the Against All Odds PPV.  Next week, we need to have a few of the match Set,  I believe.  Give us a direction, especially when the main event is concerned.

What did you think of the show?  Drop me a line at DJKevinGillman75@aol.com or drop me a line on the site.  Have a great night.

Impact Wrestling 1/12/12…Righting A Wrong

Right off of a disappointing PPV, TNA has to shape up here, and give us a Home Run for tonight’s Impact.  Here we go.

The World Heavyweight Champion, Bobby Roode starts the show off, proud of his victory this past Sunday over Jeff Hardy.  He can honestly say he has become the most dominant World Heavyweight Champion on Impact Wrestling.  Sting, you keep setting them up, and he keeps knocking them down.  From “Cowboy” James Storm to the “Phenomenal One” AJ Styles, and to the most recent victim, “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy.

The crowd chants Hardy, and Roode encourages it, because through Hardy’s problems, coming back, and becoming a role model for all of the “Creatures of the night” he almost found glory by being the World Heavyweight Champion, almost.  Because the bottom line is he failed to capture the title.

Roode wants Jeff, so come on out and humbly accept his defeat, and shake the champion’s hand.

Here comes Sting.

He doesn’t know how many times he has to do this to make Roode understand this, so let’s do this.  Me, Sting, your boss.  You Bobby, employee.  Roode says, no, he is champion.  Sting says he acts like a bad kid in the back of the classroom, and he wants to whip his behind.  But tonight, Sting is in a good mood, so tonight, Roode defends his World Title against Jeff Hardy, and it’s set.

Earlier today, we have a Direct Insurance commercial with Matt Morgan and Crimson.  They also have a Tag Team Title defense tonight against Robbie E. and Robbie T.  That match is up next.

Tag Team Title match is up now.

The champs retain their titles with a Double Chokeslam on Robbie E.  Samoa Joe and Magnus attack Crimson and Morgan after the match.

I truly like the tag team.

Eric Bischoff is headed to the ring, next.

When we come back, we see video footage of Bischoff Vs Bischoff, and Eric heads to the ring.

Eric loves his theme music, but last week Sting hands Garrett a pair of Wrestling boots, and he thinks he is a wrestler.  But he isn’t.  He had built a Wrestling empire, and made it look easy, but it wasn’t.  He orders Garrett to come out, give up his dreams, because it’s only going to hurt in the long run.

Here comes Garrett.

He wants to end his dream as a Wrestler, but he does have friends, and he hasn’t burnt any bride so far.  So he will continue living his dream, and he does have a new trainer.  He has friends too, and the two are cornered up in the corner.  Eric tries to grab Garrett, and Garrett told him not to ever touch him again.

Angelina and Winter are backstage, it’s time to show Winter who she is in her match with ODB.

ODB and EYvideo is being played, ODB informs Eric that their kiss was just one time.  They have a match to go.

Winter Vs ODB, in the ring now.

ODB wins the match with The Bam!! on Winter.  A romance is blooming between these two kids.

Still to come, Jeff Hardy faces Bobby Roode for the World Heavyweight Title.

Here comes AJ Styles.  He wants to know what happened last week with Kazarian, and why did he turn his back on him.  Here comes Kaz.

Out of everyone, AJ didn’t expect the voice of reason to turn his back on.  This sounds like a broken record, because he had the same discussion with Christopher Daniels.  He expected a man to speak out.  Kazarian can’t speak about it, but Christopher Daniels can, and here he comes.

He said that Frankie sees you for what you are, a lost cause.  Since AJ lost to Daniels, AJ has lost match after match, so why should he walk with a loser?  He’s done carrying his ass, you worthless piece of….

Kazarian stops him, and Daniels forces him out of the ring, but AJ goes after Daniels now.  Kazarian pulled Daniels out of the ring.

“Cowboy” James Storm is headed to the ring, next.

Backstage, Bully Ray is bragging about trending Twitter all over the world after the PPV.  Roode is upset that he has to defend his title tonight against Jeff Hardy.  Bully Ray has Roode’s back, but he wants a shot at the title.  Roode is cool with that.

Here comes “Cowboy” James Storm.

Some people here at Im pact Wrestling can do things, but not be called out on.  But James Storm is going to call them out to their face, so he is calling out Kurt Angle, and here he comes.

James said that Kurt is the kind of guy who would take the low road to pick up a win.  But the record book says former World Champion James Storm defeats Kurt Angle two times.  Thank you very much, so how about another match, tonight?

This is Kurt’s night off, he proved he was the better man, and he is on to bigger and better things, and that is the World Heavyweight Title.

Here comes Sting, again.

Sting wants to make a statement here, if Roode gets himself intentionally DQ’d, he will lose the title to Hardy, and since Storm win at Final Resolution, and since Kurt won at Genesis, the winner of their match tonight will face the winner of Roode-Hardy for the World Heavyweight Title.

Storm Vs Angle is up next.

“Cowboy” James Storm wins the match with a Last Call Superkick.  Excellent match here between the two, surely better than their Genesis PPV match.  James Storm is the new Number One Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship.

Jeff Hardy is ready for tonight’s match, it’s coming up next.

Brooke Adams will be working on this year’s Hooter’s Dream Girls 2012.

Madison Rayne approaches Sting.  She may have been a bit overzealous in her approach for VP of the Knockouts.  So he can officially name her, right now.  Sting can’t do that, what about interfering in the Gail Kim-Mickie James match last week?  Let’s forget about that.  Okay, how about this, Madison is much bigger than being put in a cage, how about next week Madison Rayne faces Mickie James inside a steel cage?  The match is on.

Main event is up now, Jeff Hardy Vs Bobby Roode, for the World Heavyweight Title.

This match ends in a no contest when Bully Ray came out of nowhere and pulled the referee out of the ring, and decked him, knocking him out when Hardy had Roode pinned, and this ends the show with Bully Ray yelling out he can’t beat Roode.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

Once again, another crappy ending to what was a good match.  This has been a disturbing trend in both TNA and WWE where there is a No Contest in an otherwise big match.  It’s starting to get every annoying.  I can understand where they are going with this, probably a Fatal 4-Way between Storm Vs Roode Vs Hardy Vs Bull Ray, but it still doesn’t make things any better.  At least have Roode cheat to win, right?  This cheats the fans, and it makes casual watchers of TNA not to tune in next week.

Also, would it not hurt to use this match and promote next week’s show?  No advertising means no extra fans will tune in and watch a big World Title match, then again if they do, they would still pull of this lame and crappy ending, so it doesn’t matter, I guess.

I will say I did enjoy Angle Vs Storm, imagine the fact there was a clean pinfall.  What a novel concept, but there is no question that Storm is the Number One Contender, and I would prefer to see Roode Vs Storm, for the World Title at Against All Odds.  So if it gets us there, so be it.

I also enjoyed the Styles-Kazarian segment, and when you add Christopher Daniels to the mix, it’s official, Fortune is no more.

Speaking of next week, Madison Rayne Vs Mickie James is set up, and I have no problem with that.  This being side a steel cage, the Knockout Division can put the Divas Division to shame, it should be a good match.

TNA Impact 4/13/11…The Road To Lockdown Ends Here

We are just 3 days away from one of TNA’s biggest PPVs, Lockdown, where every match is inside a steel cage.  Let’s find out where they go from here.

They start us off with the match from last week between Sting and RVD.  Mr. Anderson gives everyone a Mic Check, and Hogan isn’t happy about it.

We start the show with another promo by Immortal.  Why can’t we start the show off with a match?  Change things a little bit.

Hogan wants Mr. Anderson out, brother, and here he comes.

For the last 6 weeks, Hogan has given Ken an opportunity to do the right thing.  But time and time again, he spits in the face of authority, which means he spits in Hogan.

Anderson said he used to look up to Hogan, but now he is disappointed.  All of these men are riding Hogan’s coattails.  Why doesn’t Hogan see it?  So, he will not step in line, brother, like the other lemons.  He has to look at himself in the mirror, and he says Mr. Anderson….Anderson….you really are an asshole.  He can live with that, but they have to know they are in Hogan’s ass.

Hogan nails him after that comment and Immortal takes turns hitting Anderson.

Now Hogan said that Anderson has disrespected him for the last time.  He has tried to warn him, but he wouldn’t listen to him.  So whatever happens to him, it’s his fault.  By the end of the night, Hogan and Anderson will cross paths again, but he will take him out on his time, not Anderson’s.

Bully Ray is about to deck him, but Anderson spit him in his face.  Ray decked him after that.

Nobody came out to help Ken.

Velvet Sky wants to talk to Angelina Love after what happened last week.  Winter answered the door, saying Angelina doesn’t want to talk, Velvet informs Winter that she is calling Angelina out later in the show and return the receipt she gave her last week, and if she doesn’t answer, she will drag her into the ring.

Good luck with that.

Immortal is in the back celebrating what just happened.  Bischoff just spoke with The Network, they want a Best of 3 series.  Fortune Vs Immortal, winner gets the advantage.

Hogan believes someone inside is working The Network, Bischoff is going to look into it.

Match time, we have a 4-way match with Crimson Vs Douglas Williams, Orlando Jordan, and Jesse Neal.

A tag team Fatal 4-way takes place at Lockdown with The British Invasion Vs Ink Inc, Eric Young and Orlando Jordan, and Scott Steiner and Crimson.

Orlando Jordan wins with his Gender Bender, a rolling TKO.  He pins Douglas Williams.  During the match, Abyss came out and attacked Crimson, paying him back for taking him out a few months back.  Gave him a Chokeslam on a steel rail.

Bully Ray greets RVD in the back and advises him to take Hogan’s offer he will make him later.  The grass is always greener from the other side.

Still to come, a 6 man tag match with Hernandez, The Pope, and Jeff Jarrett taking on Matt Morgan, Samoa Joe, and Kurt Angle.

Coming up next, the best of 3 series kicks off and it’s Matt Hardy taking on Kazarian.

Matt Hardy wins with his Ice Pick move, a submission move.

Madison Rayne is going to apologize to “Hardcore Country” herself  Mickie James.

The Queen of the Knockouts, Madison Rayne is in the ring.  She hasn’t slept in 7 days since the incident that took place last week.  What would have she done if she had to go back?  She would have backed that cycle and hit her again, then slap Tara in the face.  She is Madison’s bitch.  She needs to know her role, or she would be back making minimum wage.  Does Tara have something to say?

Hardcore Country….

Here comes Mickie James.  She has a separated shoulder, and will be at Lockdown on Sunday.  She will put Madison through every ounce of pain and then some.  For 6 months straight, she has ridiculed her in every way she could and at Lockdown, there is no way to escape the cage, and she will keep her hair.

Coming up next, 6 man tag match, Hernandez, Jeff Jarrett, and The Pope taking on Joe, Matt Morgan, and Kurt Angle.

The Pope, Jeff Jarrett, and Hernandez beat Samoa Joe, Matt Morgan, and Kurt Angle when Pope laid out Joe with some brass knuckles.  After the match, Mexican America helped Pope lay out some more damage to Joe.

After the match, we see The Jarretts leaving, running from Kurt, Karen forgets her purse, but she saw Kurt and Jeff took off without her.  That was a little funny.

Hogan and Bischoff are in here, they want RVD next to join Immortal.   Hulk said there is a new and twisted side of RVD, the way that Anderson Mic Checked Sting, he saw that and took advantage of it.  Sting came out and assured that Rob didn’t know what happened, instead Hogan and Bischoff are toying with him, they have no use for him.   This should be about the title, but it’s not.  Rob left without saying a word, whose side is he on?  I guess we will find on this Sunday.

Sting then gives Bischoff a Stinger Death Drop and went after Hogan saying someday, on his time, he will get Hogan.  Hogan is very scared.

Match number 2, Abyss taking on James Storm.  If Storm wins, than Robert Roode would face Ric Flair.

Abyss wins with a Black Hole Slam.  Because of the victory, Immortal gets an edge at the PPV and they get the advantage.  After the match, Immortal centers around James Storm, but Fortune are watching his back.

Bischoff is on the phone, wanting to know who is behind this, but The Network just states in due time.

Velvet Sky calls out Angelina Love.

We come back and see that she does come out and is still in a trance, she beats down Velvet.  Gives her a DDT right on the chair, Winter looked along giving her an approval.

TNA Lockdown run down is up now, and coming up next, Mr. Anderson will take on Immortal with Gauntlet Rules.

Anderson is facing off Murphy first.

Anderson used a Mic Check and won.

“The Freak” Rob Terry is in now.

Mic Check, that is all she wrote.

Gunner is in now.

Mic Check, and here comes the cleanup hitter, Bully Ray.

Bully Ray had Anderson up, but Hogan came up to them, he wanted him.  So he set him up for a Powerbomb, but Sting finally comes in and helps Anderson out, but Abyss tries to interfere, when that backfires, Immortal bails and it’s left between Sting and Mr. Anderson.

When we come back, we hear from Fortune.  Storms said that “Abitch” beat him, but he is still standing and at Lockdown, you will go down.

RVD isn’t sure what side he should take, he is just walking all around, trying to sort things out.

Anderson said none of this changes, it’s still about the TNA Heavyweight Title and is ready for this Sunday.

Sting said it’s Showtime, Folks.

Hogan said the title comes back hom this Sunday at Lockdown, and this ends the show.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

This was a very good go-home set up to the PPV this coming Sunday.  We know that Anderson isn’t a part of Immortal, so he had to run the Gauntlet, which is funny seeing TNA taped these shows a few weeks ago, so while some may say TNA copied what WWE did, it’s the other way around.

I enjoyed the two match between Immortal and Fortune, you have to figure at some point, Ric Flair will face Fortune, but my guess is it will be against A.J. Styles first.

Hogan hinted there will be a turn, so can RVD turn heel?  I guess time will figure everything out.  One thing is for sure, Lockdown is coming up, are you ready?
